Rambling - BDSM In Books & Movies

It's another sleepless night, and with way too many thoughts in my head, here I am again writing a late at night rambling.

Recently, I realized that there way too many erotic romances out there. Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against these types of books. Over the years, I have read my share of steamy romances, so I understand the appeal. While browsing the small book section at my local Walmart, I noticed most of the romance titles were BDSM romances. And, no, I'm not referring to the trashy Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy by E. L. James. These books seemed to be better written. Or at least that's what I got from reading a few blurbs.

Return to Exercising and Sexy Sporting Wear

It's nearly midnight, and with nothing else to do, I thought I would write a short rambling, which is more or less an update on my weight loss journey. Well, thanks to many setbacks this year that I won't list here, I am currently back at square one. I haven't gained any weight over the last few months, but I haven't lost any weight either. I'm bouncing back and forth from 218 to 222. My diet is mostly healthy, minus the occasional diet soda, so that's not the problem. My main issue is finding the motivation to exercise, which I have been lacking. In the past, when I had exercised 30 minutes to an hour for 6 to 7 days a week, I dropped the pounds quickly, but I get distracted and fall off course. And jumping back into exercising isn't an easy thing to do. However, it's something that I'm going to have to force myself to do in the early mornings.

Romances, an Escapism for Men

Why is it the lonely hearts are the ones who read the most romance novels? Is it because we believe there is a soulmate out there for us? Are we just more romantic than others? Or is it a distraction from our loneliness?

Coffee, Halloween, and Dating in Los Angeles

It's nearly midnight, and I'm drinking a cup of Starbucks Italian Roast Coffee, which is supposed to taste like dark chocolate and roasted marshmallows. Maybe my taste buds have fallen asleep because all I can taste is the arabica coffee. And, no, the coffee isn't the reason why I am still awake. For those of you who haven't looked at the calendar, today is October 1st. Or what I like to refer to as the official start of the Halloween season, and anybody who knows me knows it's my favorite time of year. So, I spent my night watching Halloween (1978) and Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers on AMC.  Halloween isn't just my favorite season, it's also my favorite movie, and even though I own all the Halloween films on Blu-ray, I still get excited when it airs on cable. I can't explain why, but watching the movies makes me feel like a teenager again.

Is Romance Only Found in Novels and Movies?

Is romance only found in novels and movies?

This question popped into my mind after watching the movie The Secret: Dare To Dream a few nights ago. (FYI: I'll be reviewing this movie soon, so keep an eye out for the post.). It's a rare sappy romance that I liked.

Is it weird for a 39-year-old bachelor to like a romance movie?

Maybe I am romantic at heart, which would explain why I use to read a slew of romance novels. The keywords here are “used to.” While romance novels are enjoyable to read, they can also be depressing when you are single, which is one of the main reasons why I have slowed down on my romance reading.

What's Better: Tea or Coffee?

Every caffeine lover has been asked at least once in their lifetime, “Tea or Coffee?”

As you can probably already tell by the name of this blog, Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer, I am a coffee lover. And, preferably, I like the caffeinated kind over decaf, though I have occasionally drunk the latter.

Now let us get back to the question, Tea or Coffee?

What Is the Difference Between an EMT and a Paramedic?

Emergency medical technicians and paramedics are both professionals who provide medical care to people at the scene of an emergency. Once the patients are stable enough to travel, paramedics and EMTs can then transport them in an ambulance to the hospital for further care. The job duties of a paramedic and an EMT can seem very similar, so much so that many people use the two terms interchangeably.

Don't Forget to Send Greeting Cards!

If you haven’t been living under a rock for the past few months, then you already know we are living in strange times with the epidemic that is plaguing the world. The states are shutting down again, and the stores that are still open will suffer even more because of the lack of merchandise being produced. The small businesses in my neck of the woods are hurting badly by the crises. The store shelves are bare and only the necessities are being restocked. And, no, this doesn’t include greeting cards.

To Merch, or not to Merch?

When did bloggers and vloggers offer their own merchandise?

Not unless you're a celebrity or connected to a news organization, it’s hard for a regular person to monetize their blog, vlog, or YouTube channel and make a living off of it. I have been noticing bloggers and vloggers are selling their own merch (merchandise), such as t-shirts, sweaters, socks, mugs, pillows, cell phone cases, stickers, and pins. The list keeps going on and on!

I am taking a wild guess that affiliates and advertisers aren’t paying what they used to, and, now, they're finding more creative ways to make some extra cash. The merch they’re selling to their readers/viewers all feature their logos, so it’s just another way for them to advertise their blog or channel.

Show Your American Pride with a Flag!

2020 is only halfway through, but it's already been a tough year for everyone with all the chaos around the world. Here in the United States of America, the 4th of July is less than two weeks away. Yeah, I know, I can hardly believe it myself; mostly thanks to the lack of firework stands because of the COVID-19 epidemic.

Give a Pet Portrait for Father's Day!

Is it just me or is June flying by way too fast?

Believe it or not, Father’s Day is this Sunday, June 21st. With all the chaos in the world this year, many of us have probably forgotten about the holiday that celebrates our fathers, grandfathers, uncles, etc. If you’re like me, then you have a tough time trying to come up with the perfect Father’s Day gift. Yes, sending a Hallmark card with a gift card is an easy (and cheap) way to go, but it’s even better to give a more creative gift.

Personalized Books

Adding the name of the birthday boy or girl to a personalized birthday book for child creates a special gift just for them. You can research companies that will do this for you. All Blogs Need Responsive Templates!

Since I'd redesigned this blog at the beginning of 2020, I have been asked multiple times by readers and fellow bloggers where I got the template. Well, here's the answer - its a Sora Template called Sora Ribbon that I purchased for $9.95. A free version can be downloaded. However, I purchased the premium version, so I can make adjustments to fit in with the blog's theme, such as colors, copyright notice, etc.

How To Get Boys Interested in Reading

Boys tend to engage in physical activity more than sedentary activities like reading. Even though boys don't seem to enjoy reading in their early years as much as girls, there are things you can do to help entice them and begin to build their interest. Aside from general ideas to integrate reading into a boy's repertoire, such as creating a daily schedule that includes reading, finding the right book is equally important. Here are three book ideas that will help to entice the boy in your life to gain an interest in reading.

Random Ramblings - Finding Love During A Pandemic

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are 100% mine.

The last few weeks have been very hectic and stressful for me, and I'm assuming it's been the same for just about everyone else due to the worldwide pandemic that we're currently going through. Jobs have been lost, MLB has been postponed, summer movies have had their release dates changed, many stores are closed, and even The Walking Dead finale has been delayed. Add in the toilet paper madness, things are pretty crazy in the world. If you weren't already suffering from anxiety, then you're most likely are now.

Random Ramblings - Sending Gifts During A Pandemic?

* This is a sponsored post. All opinions are 100% mine.

Unless you've been living under a rock, then you already know about the world's pandemic that has made the shelves at Walmart, Target, and grocery stores bare. Literally, everything has been canceled — television shows, movies, sporting events, etc. Many people are now out of work thanks to the many business closing and the falling stock market. Times are definitely tough and extremely stressful for us all.
