Book Reviews
As of January 2019, I am now accepting review requests from Authors, Publishers, Publicists, and Agents.
- I prefer to read “printed” copies, but I have nothing against reading an eBook!
- Book reviews are posted as “Winter Reads," “Spring Reads,” “Summer Reads,” or “Fall Reads.”
- I can't guarantee I'll like each and every book.
- Snippets of each review will be posted on Goodreads.
- I will still support authors with “Saturday Takeover!” guest posts and interviews. Learn more about “Saturday Takeover!” here. You can find my standard interview questions here!
While I do love reading all genres, I prefer to read:
- Fiction Genres: Horror, Thrillers, Mysteries, Romances (Christian, Amish, and Harlequin), Classics, Westerns
- Children & Young Adult Genres: Horror, Thrillers, Classics, Mysteries, Fantasy, Adventures
- Non-Fiction: Biographies, Civil War
- Craft Books; Quilting, Cross Stitching
- Audiobooks: Yes, I'll review an audiobook, if the plot intrigues me.
Movie Reviews
I am now accepting 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital review requests from Studios, Agents, and PR Firms.
- Reviews are labeled as Blu-ray Review, DVD Review, or Digital Review.
- If requested, a horror movie can be posted as a “Midnight Horror Review” on Wednesdays at midnight.
- While horror films are my favorite, I will review all genres, including television series.
Music Reviews
I love listening to music, especially when I'm blogging. As of last year, I'm accepting a music album (CDs, Vinyls, or Digital) review requests from Studios and PR Firms.
- I like all genres except for rap music!
Product Reviews
While this blog has reviewed many products in the past, I'm now only accepting selective product requests that intrigue me.
I will only review:
- Coffee (caffeine or decaffeinated)
- Bookish Items
- Electronics (TVs, Blu-ray Players, etc.)
- Furniture (Mattresses, Chairs, etc.)
- Geeky Things
Giveaways
I'm more than glad to host a giveaway along with any review.

ReplyDeleteI am a first-time author seeking a review for my Western short story, Red Desert Crossing. My writing is shaped by the realism and prose of Larry McMurtry, Cormac McCarthy, Elmore Leonard and James Welch—stories that prioritize the "older West" over the legend.
The Story Gus Parham is a retired cavalry captain past his prime, but not his principles. Alongside his oldest friend and foreman, Red Hawk Stands Alone—a man of humor and caution who often sees the danger first—Gus agrees to help Hisei. Hisei is a Shoshone girl who has escaped a government school in Pennsylvania and is determined to make it home.
The story follows these three unlikely travelers across a hard country. It is a narrative of dry wind, old grief, and tribal loyalties. There are no easy villains or clean answers—just two old men trying to do one decent thing in a country where decency can get you killed.
At its core, Red Desert Crossing explores a single question: What does a person owe another human being when doing the right thing costs everything?
