Sunday Post: Christmas Gifts, Fear Street, & Star Wars

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @  Caffeinated Book Reviewer!

Good Evening, Everyone!

What Am I Currently Reading?

My first post-Christmas read will be Star Wars: Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn, which is a book I read during my childhood; though I can't remember a single thing about it. I had planned on reading it yesterday but I ended up watching the new season of Lost In Space on Netflix. If you haven't seen  Netflix's Lost In Space, do so!  It's an awesome series.

What's In the Mail?

I received a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray of Rambo: Last Blood last Monday from Lionsgate. I watched it that night but I haven't had time to write the review for it. Look for it in the coming days. Also, I received a DVD of Overcomer from Provident Films as a gift for posting a "feature" about the film during my Holiday Gift Guide event. I believe they're also going to send me a movie poster!

Thrift Store Finds

I was waiting to pick up an order of Moo Goo Gai Pan from the only Chinese restaurant in town, I stopped by the thrift store and found the paperback Fear Street: Super Chiller #!: The Stepbrother by R.L. Stine, which was a title I was missing from collection.

What's New on the Bookshelf?

For Christmas, I received the books the paperbacks The Timepiece by Beverly Lewis and The Warning by James Patterson & Robsion Wells. Also, I received an Onn Tablet with a preinstalled Walmart eBooks app (Kobo) and a $25 eBook gift card. The eBooks I purchased with the gift card are: Full Throttle by Joe Hill; Star Wars Trilogy by George Lucas, Donald Glut, and James Kahn; From the Corner of His Eye by Dean Koontz; Forgotten by P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast; Lovecraft Country by Matt Ruff; and All Soul's Trilogy by Deborah Harkness.

Amazon was offering a $5 OFF coupon on "wishlist" eBooks, which could be used twice. I got the titles: The Book of Dust and The Secret Commonwealth by Philip Pullman, which are books one & two in the new prequel series to the Dark Materials Trilogy. Additionally, I purchased Salt of the Sea by Ruta Sepetys on a Kindly Daily Deals for $1.99

  1. We started Lost in Space on Netflix and got sidetracked. I did devour the Witcher. Glad your holiday was a good one. Enjoy your reread.

    1. I loved season 2. Hopefully, Netflix will renew it for another season as it ended on a big cliffhanger.

  3. I need to get back to the Zahn series. I've only read the first book.

    1. I've never read Dark Force Rising or The Last Command but I do own them on paperback. Zahn has a new Thrawn prequel series but it's only loosely connected to these novels due to Disney removing all the EU books from cannon that were written before the release of The Force Awakens.
