Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Wrecking Ball
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Wrecking Ball
by Jeff Kinney
An unexpected inheritance gives Greg Heffley's family a chance to make big changes to their house. But they soon find that home improvement isn't all it's cracked up to be.
Once the walls come down all sorts of problems start to crop up. Rotten wood, toxic mold, unwelcome critters, and something even more sinister all make Greg and his family wonder if the renovations are worth the trouble.
When the dust finally settles, will the Heffleys be able to stay ... or they need to get out of town?
Where To Purchase?
Wow! I wasn't aware there are now 14 books in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series until I started reading the newest sequel "Wrecking Ball" over the weekend. If you're like me and you've missed a few installments, don't worry a bit as each book is a standalone story.
Wrecking Ball takes place between the months of March - May, where Greg Heffely once again finds his life turned upside down when he's forced to clean all the junk out of his room, which leads to him attempting to sell his stuff at a garage sale. Let's just say things don't go as planned. Then the Heffely family receives some good and bad news. The bad news is Great Aunt Reba has died. The good news is Great Aunt Reba left a little bit of money in her will to the Heffley. What will they do with the money? They (a.k.a. - MOM) decided to extend their kitchen. However, once again, things don't go as planned!
Overall, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Wrecking Ball is well-written, hilarious book for young readers or even adults. The main character, Greg, is instantly likeable, the subplots are fun, the jokes are funny, and the illustrations are comical. It would make a nice stocking stuffer for Christmas!
