Christmas Future
Christmas Future
by Valerie Ipson
The future is always brighter at Christmas.
While Scarlett Ambrose works her PR magic landing Alaska on the nice Christmas spirit list, her wedding plans and a longing for Arizona's heat have to wait. But when the wait's too long will a warm-hearted doctor in town for his own reasons be just the prescription for lifting her cold, Scrooge-like spirit?
Where To Purchase?
I don't know how many times Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol has been retold over the years in movies and books but it seems I am the targeted demographic as the classic tale is one of my favorite reads. Last night, I read the holiday romance novel Christmas Future by Valerie Ipson and the plot is a retelling of A Christmas Carol. However, instead of greedy Ebenezer Scrooge, this tale focuses on Scarlett Ambrose, who finds herself having to deal with the cold weather as she tries to help Alaska become one of the top ten Christmassy states as part of her new PR job, which isn't easy due to her demanding boss. Add in the troubles with her fiancé, who's pressuring her into picking a wedding date, she doesn't exactly have the Christmas spirit this year.
Did I mention this was a romance? Well, there's a doctor, Gil, who gets entangled in Scarlett's life and you probably guess what happens next.
Overall, Christmas Future is a fast-paced, well-written holiday romance with intriguing characters and believable dialogue.
