Monday Morning Madness #23: Revolt to a New Me!

Another week has quickly gone by and here I am again writing my Monday Morning Madness post on Monday evening. My mind was on other things over the weekend and I forgot to write my weekly Revolt Now Fitness post. The workout program was created by Nichole Huntsman and consists of five workout days and two rests days, though there are optional workouts on Wednesday if you don't want to take the day off. There are cardio, upper and lower workouts, all ranging from twenty minutes to forty-five minutes.

I had a chest cold last week, so my workouts weren't 100%, but I tried my best. My diet has been pretty good; though the scales have informed me I haven't lost any pounds yet. Maybe it's just my scale! I'm getting a new digital scale to review soon, so maybe I have lost a few pounds.

Revolt July Uprising Week #1

Yep, I'm joining the Revolt uprising again. I was one the bloggers who tried the fitness program earlier this year, but I couldn't participate in the program for the past two months because a family emergency. There have been many trials for me over the course of those months resulting in a little weight gain and a bit of depression.

I've started to bounce back by keeping myself busy by reading a few books and working on some writing projects. To get myself back in shape, I've rejoined the Revolt Fitness Program, which is created by Nichole Huntsman.

I didn't exactly want to exercise this morning, so it took me a little while to talk myself into it. Eventually, I dragged out the a kettlebell and a stability ball, pulled the recliner out of the way, and went to http://revoltnowfitness.com for today's workout, which was Cardio: Guts & Butts Circuit. I couldn't get the video to work at first because I needed to update the java and flash in my browser. Once everything was ready, I began the workout. When I think of cardio, I think of running and kickboxing, but not with this workout as there were mostly squats. Normally, I would love doing squats, but since I have been a couch potato for several weeks, the squats were a drag, but I know I'll see results fairly quickly from the routine.

My Revolt Journey Week 6

It's been a stressful week for me as there was and still is a family emergency since Thursday, but I still stayed on track with the 6th week Revolt Now Fitness with Nichole Huntsman.

This week's workouts consisted of new routines, like calf raises and woodchoppers. Of course there were a few of my returning favorites like thrusters, squats and dead lifts. What I like about the program is that you don't need a lot of large equipments. All you need is a pair of kettlebells, a pair of dumbbells, a medicine ball, and a stationary ball. You'll also need a bench (or a step bench), a sturdy chair, and a yoga mat for some of the workouts.

The diet plan is fairly simple, in other words eat health. I'm not great at dieting, but I have cut back on things and have been making healthier choices. Like today for an example, I ate lunch at a hospital cafeteria. I had a grilled fish and a small salad. And of course I had a cup of coffee too.

My Revolt Journey Week 5

The fifth week of Revolt with Nichole Huntsman went extremely fast consisting of new routines with Bulgarian split squats, thrusters, push-ups, butt kicks, and many other workouts. I was supposed to place paper towels under my feet for the pike-ups, but that didn't work as I have carpet floors, so I used two small paper plates instead.

After having lower-back pains for a few weeks, I was pain free for week five of Revolt, but I had a wisdom tooth that wanted to act up (and it is still causing some pain). I've been adding other workouts (yoga, stretching, cardio, and kickboxing, to my daily routines, except for today (Sunday) which is my much needed rest day.

My Revolt Journey Week 4

March is already over and so is the fourth week of Revolt with Nichole Huntsman with a whole new routine of workouts. The program reminds me of the P90X except for the Revolt workouts takes up less than half the time as Nichole Huntsman doesn't waste a single minute. I have had a pair of kettlebells for a few years. I didn't even know how to use them, but I do now as several of the Revolt workouts requite them.

I'm not sore from the workouts anymore, but I recently had a non-exercise (picking up a 30 pound box of cat litter) lower back injury about two weeks ago. It felt fine for a few days, then all of the sudden it came back. I was extra careful during my workouts, but I had to adjust a few routines. I ended up buying the Gold's Gym Waist Trimmer Support Belt and wore it during the rest of this week's workout. I had no back problems for the rest of the week. The belt also came with a lumbar support and a hot/cold pack. I'm happy to say that my back feels about 90% better today. I recommend everyone never to toss around a 30 pound box of cat litter.
