Adam is the resident vampire in a small college town in Michigan. It’s the same scenario every night: wander campus, snag a co-ed for dinner, get home before dawn. Rinse. Repeat--until an irresistible new professor appears. From the shadows, he follows her every footstep, lurking, until he witnesses a tragic accident. As life drains from the object of his desire, he is faced with an impossible choice: Should he intervene or not?

It's nearly midnight, and I'm drinking a cup of Starbucks Italian Roast Coffee, which is supposed to taste like dark chocolate and roasted marshmallows. Maybe my taste buds have fallen asleep because all I can taste is the arabica coffee. And, no, the coffee isn't the reason why I am still awake. For those of you who haven't looked at the calendar, today is October 1st. Or what I like to refer to as the official start of the Halloween season, and anybody who knows me knows it's my favorite time of year. So, I spent my night watching Halloween (1978) and Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers on AMC. Halloween isn't just my favorite season, it's also my favorite movie, and even though I own all the Halloween films on Blu-ray, I still get excited when it airs on cable. I can't explain why, but watching the movies makes me feel like a teenager again.

Is romance only found in novels and movies?
This question popped into my mind after watching the movie The Secret: Dare To Dream a few nights ago. (FYI: I'll be reviewing this movie soon, so keep an eye out for the post.). It's a rare sappy romance that I liked.
Is it weird for a 39-year-old bachelor to like a romance movie?
Maybe I am romantic at heart, which would explain why I use to read a slew of romance novels. The keywords here are “used to.” While romance novels are enjoyable to read, they can also be depressing when you are single, which is one of the main reasons why I have slowed down on my romance reading.

Good Morning, Everyone!
The local Salvation Army accepts donations every other week, and last week was it, so I spent most of my free time helping my mother go through my grandma’s belongings that have been in a storage locker for a year and a half. We made about a dozen trips to the Salvation Army throughout the week.
FYI: My grandmother is doing fine in the nursing home.
I went through a closet and donated six boxes full of books to the Salvation Army and gave three other boxes of books to a family friend. I disassembled an old oversized TV stand that I had been using as a bookcase in my bedroom and got rid of it. I dragged out the my dresser and left it out with the garbage. Then I took apart the hand-me-down bed frame and stored it in the shed.
Why did I do all this?
I needed to get my grandma’s furniture out of storage. I took her iron headboard and bed frame, a six-drawer dresser with a tall mirror, a cedar chest, and a loveseat. My mother took the chest of drawers, a glass-cabinet TV stand, and a curio cabinet. Besides the last two, I had to lift everything else by myself, so my back is sore.
Also, I took a small bookcase that has seen better days. I went through some of my grandma’s books and took the ones I wanted, such as Eugenia Price, Victoria Holt, Janice Holt Giles, and a few other authors. There are a few other boxes of books in storage that I must go through today.
