Review - Her Secret by Shelley Shepard Gray

Avon Inspire; 272 pages; $12.99; Buy Link; Blog Tour
Now available today from Avon Inspire (an imprint of Harper Collins Publishers) is book one in The Amish Of Hart County series, titled by "Her Secret" by New York Times bestselling author Shelley Shepard Gray.

The novel centers on Hannah Hilty, a young Amish woman who, along with her family, was forced to leave her home in Ohio and move to Hart County Kentucky after a former friend became obsessed with her. Though many others would probably be glad to start anew in a new town, Hannah hasn't exactly enjoyed moving to a new place. All of her siblings are homesick and aren't adjusting to their new home very well. Then of course there is the little fact that Hannah is still afraid that her stalker will find her.

While Hannah will never be the trusting young woman she once was, she does let her guard down when she befriends a neighbor, Isaac Troyer. However, no matter how close she gets to Issac, part of her still feels like she is being stalked.

The author has taken a few minutes out of her busy schedule for a Q&A about her newest novel.

When did you become interested in storytelling?

I’ve always been a storyteller, ask anyone that’s ever heard me tell them what I had for breakfast. It wasn’t until 2013 that I started writing down the stories in my head.

What was your first book/story published?

My first book was Love is a Fire and it was published May 2014.

What inspired you to write The DiDominzio Novellas?

Well, I was brainstorming with my friend, Dawn, about a Christmas story which led to The King and the Pawn. As I started writing Frankie’s story, her brother and sisters were introduced and I knew they each had to have their own stories as well.

What character in The DiDominzio Novellas is the most/least like you, and in what ways?

Frankie is definitely like me. We’re both loud, independent, and tell it like it is!

Power Rangers Dino Super Charge is the second and final season of the Dino Charge series, which aired last year on Nickelodeon. Season Two mixed things up a bit by putting Heckle/Snide as new the villain, who unleashes what was left of Sledge's henchmen upon the Power Rangers. Two new Power Rangers are introduced - an alien bird creature Zenowing the Silver Ranger, and James Navarro the Aqua Ranger, who happens to be Tyler's long lost father. My Answer:

Well, it all depends on how many other books I have to review first. Typically, I stack up my to-be-read pile by the scheduled review date (if there is one), and I read the books in that order. I try to sneak in other reads in between those, so sometimes I get a little behind in my reviewing. I might have a book read and reviewed weeks ahead of schedule. Then there are other times where I'm speed reading the book on the day the review is due.

Spring Reads: The Elusive Miss Ellison

Kregel; 304 pages; $14.99; Buy Link; Blog Tour

Now available from Kregel Publishing is the romantic regency novel The Elusive Miss Ellison, book one in the Regency Brides: A Legacy of Grace series, by author Carolyn Miller.

Set in the small village of St. Hampton Heath, Gloucestershire, England in the early 1800s, the novel centers on Nicholas, the youngest son of the Earl of Hawkesbury, returning home. Despite the fact most of the villagers are excited about his return, he plans on making his visit very brief, mostly thanks to his guilt over his brother's harmful past.

The last thing Nicholas wanted was to fall in love, but that's exactly what happens after several unwanted encounters with the opinionated Miss Lavinia  Ellison, who happens to be a minister’s daughter.

I guess you can say that Lavinia isn't exactly excited to learn of Nicholas return to town, especially since the Hawkesbury family are responsible for her mother's death.
