Review - Her Secret by Shelley Shepard Gray

Avon Inspire; 272 pages; $12.99; Buy Link; Blog Tour
Now available today from Avon Inspire (an imprint of Harper Collins Publishers) is book one in The Amish Of Hart County series, titled by "Her Secret" by New York Times bestselling author Shelley Shepard Gray.

The novel centers on Hannah Hilty, a young Amish woman who, along with her family, was forced to leave her home in Ohio and move to Hart County Kentucky after a former friend became obsessed with her. Though many others would probably be glad to start anew in a new town, Hannah hasn't exactly enjoyed moving to a new place. All of her siblings are homesick and aren't adjusting to their new home very well. Then of course there is the little fact that Hannah is still afraid that her stalker will find her.

While Hannah will never be the trusting young woman she once was, she does let her guard down when she befriends a neighbor, Isaac Troyer. However, no matter how close she gets to Issac, part of her still feels like she is being stalked.

Final Thoughts: Shelley Shepard Gray is one my favorite Amish fiction writers, so I guess you can say that my expectations for her newest novel, Her Secret, were probably high. I'm glad to say that I wasn't disappointed a bit with the title. It's not your straight up, by-the-book Amish romance. Yes, while there is a bit of romance between the characters Hannah and Isaac, the book has more a suspenseful plot to it, including a few twists and turns that I didn't see coming.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed reading Her Secret. It's a fast-paced & well-written Amish drama that I was hooked to right from the very beginning.
