Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer! |
Good Morning, Everyone!
DUNE
What Am I Reading?
This week I'll be finishing up my 007 rereads. I am behind in all my reviews, so my Moonraker post will be posted later today. I don't know the exact time, but I'll get it done. Next, I'll most likely read The Noise by James Patterson and J.D. Barker (he's the real author). Technically, I've already read a few chapters the other night, so I'll go ahead and finish it this week.

What's in the Mail?
Nobody loves me. 😂 I received nothing in the mail.
What's New On the Bookshelf?
I was out and about multiple times and picked up several used and new books. On Monday, I found the paperbacks Foundation's Edge and Prelude To Foundation, both written by the granddaddy of science fiction, Isaac Asimov, at a thrift store. I stopped by there again yesterday and got Foundation's Edge by Isaac Asimov, which I probably overlooked on my first visit.
Next, I picked up Tour of the Merrimack: Vol. One by R. M. Meluch (an omnibus containing The Myriad and Wolf Star), and Restless Lightning by Richard Baker at Dollar Tree. Both paperbacks are science fiction.
Believe it or not, the local Dollar General restocked their paperback rack for the first time in many, many years. And, the prices have increased. The paperbacks used to be $1, and now it's $3. The price still isn't bad, but all the books had bent or torn covers. This store is small and disorganized, and I stumbled upon more books on the bottom shelf of the toy aisle. Most of the titles were cookbooks and romances, but I did find one intriguing title - Shining in the Dark. It's an anthology featuring short tales by Stephen King, Clive Barker, Ramsey Campbell, Edgar Allen Poe, and other authors. How much did it cost? Two dollars! Yep, a dollar cheaper the smaller paperbacks.
Warning - this might be a shocker. I bought the newest James Patterson novel - The Jailhouse Lawyer. The real author is Nancy Allen. No, she's not the actress from Robocop. I had to Google that fact.
Oh nice new reads! Lots of new to me ones here. I rarely find any good titles in my Dollar stores when they have things in stock. They're usually books from off the beaten path, nothing I'm ever interested in sadly, but my TBR pile doesn't suffer from it, so I guess it's all okay in the end! Lol.
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading!

Dune- nice edition! I want to see the movie even though the book didn't work for me either.
ReplyDeleteAlien. Did you see this? I don't know if you're into gaming or Critical Role but I saw this on someone's blog and watched it. Wow- all the space horror vibes. :)

Anyways ooh you've started your 007 reviews. I'll have to check those out. And Moonraker- I haven't seen the movie in AGES.
Love the Whelan cover of second Foundation.
