  Billy's Answer

When I was little, I had a huge bookmark collection. Bookmarks were easier to obtain during my childhood. The libraries had free bookmarks (one per visit), and I took advantage of them every time, and all the stores (Walmart, Barnes & Noble, dollar stores, etc.) carried a variety of bookmarks. I don't when or how, but I lost my collection.

Now, I have only a few bookmarks. Oddly, my favorite is the Dorthy Gale bookmark that I found at a thrift store many years ago. I'm not a big Wizard of Oz fan, but it's my go-to bookmark.

  1. I love your answer, it makes me feel all warm and cosy! I know I've bought bookmarks when I was younger - often as a memento of a trip or visit someplace - but I have no idea where they went too as I clearly wasn't very attached to them.

  2. You had me at free bookmarks! I wish my library did that!

  3. I actually still have some of my bookmarks from when I was a kid. All those book fairs, I was always adding a bookmark or two to the pile. The collection has since grown and gotten out of control because I tend to buy anything that makes me smile or laugh. Though there have been fewer additions these days as there just aren't any new ones coming out. I check the bookmark section of every bookstore I go to and see the same ones again and again. Sigh.

    Here's my BBH

    Have a GREAT day!

  5. Now I’m trying to remember if I collected them as a kid. I remember that I would stop to look at them always in a store if I saw a display but that’s about it. Great answer 😊

  6. I remember getting the free ones at the library too when I was a kid. Now I don't have very many but I really don't need more than one. :)

  7. I used to love looking at all the bookmarks in stores - every time a popular show/movie/book came out there would be all the pretty new bookmarks!!
