  Billy's Answer

'Friends to Lovers' is a common trope in most romance novels. Depending on the author, this plot device can feel a bit stale. A common trope in horrors and mysteries is good vs. evil. Or is that more of a theme? Off the top of my head, I cannot think of one book that reverses a trope.

  1. Second chance is my favourite - but only when they earn that redemption. I can't see how a reversed trope would really work. Tropes are tropes because they are what the audience wants.
