Good Afternoon, Everyone!
I hope everyone is keeping safe & sound.
This morning, I noticed the AC unit wasn't putting out any cold air. I thought to myself, "Great, something else I cannot afford to get fixed." It shouldn't be a big surprise because there were a few nights when the AC wouldn't shut off. It's not the filter, as I just replaced it recently. I had the same problem a few years ago. Off the top of my head, I cannot recall the name of the part, but it only cost $10 for the replacement, plus $100 labor.
The temperatures are scorching outside today, and I had to go to the storage unit to look for two fans that belonged to my grandmother. Between the ceiling fans, 2 tower fans, and three smaller fans, the house is cooling down slightly.
What Am I Reading?
My reading for this past week didn't go as planned. Instead of reading an Amish romance, I started reading 50 Years of Hammer Horror by John L. Flynn. Then I received a notice from OverDrive that The Southern Book Club's Guide To Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix was available to check out. So, I will now focus my attention on Hendrix's book.

What's in the Mail?
Nothing new review-wise, but I received three new James Patterson titles that I had ordered. The titles are Treasure Hunters: The Plunder Down Under, Hush, and The Summer House.
What's New on the Bookshelf?
The only recent book on Kindle is Hangsaman by Shirley Jackson (the author of The Haunting of Hill House). A couple of nights ago, I watched the movie Shirley starring Elizabeth Moss as Shirley Jackson, and I became interested in reading Hangsaman.
Oh no- sorry to hear about the AC. Hopefully it's nothing too serious (or expensive). I had to replace my AC a few years ago and it cost me a small fortune ugh.

I'm hoping it's just the capacitor, which is only $10 to $30 for the part; though the labor will probably be around $100. The capacitor went bad 3 or 4 years ago and I had it replaced.
DeleteWe had to replace our entire unit, it was almost 18 years old. The bill was painful. I wish you luck!
