Sunday Post - Bloodborn, Doctor Sleep, & Alexey Pehov

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer!

Good Morning, Everyone!

What Am I Currently Reading?

Instead of reading of Perfect Little Children by Sophie Hannah last week, I ended up taking a break from reading entirely. Today, I'll be reading Bloodborn by Sydney Windward, which isn't very long at all. I just received an eBook copy a few days ago for a book tour and my review is scheduled for tomorrow!

After Bloodborn, I might read Perfect Little Children or something else.

What's In the Mail?

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment sent me an early Blu-ray copy of Stephen King's Doctor Sleep, which also includes the 3-hour director's cut. I watched the theatrical and director's cut back-to-back a few nights ago. I love both versions. I'll be working on my review for the Blu-ray as soon as I finish this post.

Lionsgate Home Entertainment sent me the Jay and Silent Bob Reboot Blu-ray. It's hilarious!

Thrift Store Finds

I stumbled upon four hardcovers by Russian fantasy author Alexey Pehov. The books are Shadow Power, Shadow Chaser, Shadow Blizzard, and Chasers of the Wind. The Shadow titles are part of The Chronicles of Siala series, which I believe there are only three books total. Chasers of the Wind is book one in The Cycle of Wind and Sparks series. There are more books in this series but they've never been translated to English.

Also, I picked up The Last Kids On Earth by Max Brallier and The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold.

What's New on the Bookshelf?

I now own a copy of the newest entry in the Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children series — The Conference of the Birds. I read the first book in the series shortly after watching Tim Burton's film adaptation but I've never got around to reading the rest of the series. They're in my TBR list for this year.

Like I need another James Patterson book. Right? Well, I now have The River Murders co-authored with James O. Born. It has three stores in it ― Hidden, Malicious, and Malevolent.

  1. Well there is certainly no shortage of Patterson books to get! Releases with his name on it seem almost weekly!

Wishing you a great reading week

  2. I enjoyed Doctor Sleep too. We saw it when it released in theaters, but I imagine I will watch it again. Hope you had a good week!
