Now available in bookstores this month is newest mystery thriller from bestselling author Irene Hannon, titled Buried Secrets. Besides from reading Deceived (book three in the Private Justice series), this author is fairly new to me. With an intriguing Murder She Wrote style cover, I was excited about reading it.

Buried Secrets centers on ex-Chicago homicide detective, Lisa Grant, whom is now living a simple life as a police chief in a small town. Well, life isn't as gentle as she thought it would be when a human skeleton is discovered at the edge of town by a construction crew. Homicides is something she had thought she had left behind in Chicago, but here she is trying to solve another murder. While Lisa is fully capable of taking on this case by herself, she must team up with another detective that has been sent to help her, the ex-Navy Seal Mac McGregor.

Mac had been looking to make a change in his life; longing for a family of his own, and the town life does catches his liking and so does the charming police chief. As Mac and Lisa investigates the murder, a spark between them ignites, just as buried secrets begin to emerge.

Spring Reads: A.D. The Bible Continues: The Revolution That Changed The World

A.D. The Bible Continues: The Revolution That Changed The World
by Dr. David Jeremiah
Pubisher: Tyndale Publishing
Pub. Date: April 14, 2015
ISBN: 978-1496407177
Pages: $16.99
Buy Link: Amazon

To tie-in with the NBC's limited series A.D. The Bible Continues, the sequel to History Channel's 2013 miniseries, The Bible), Tyndale Publishing released two book this month: A.D. The Bible Continues: The Book Of Acts and A.D. The Bible Continues: The Revolution that Changed The World. Both books are written Dr. David Jeremiah, author of Agents of the Apocalypse.

While the A.D. The Bible Continues: The Book Of Acts told the stories of Christ's apostles & followers, The Revolution That Changed The World also follows the Book Of Acts, but it's retold here to give a more detailed look on what Christ's disciples went through following Jesus' death and resurrection three day later. Dr. David Jeremiah gives a history lesson on what life was like back then, by exploring the political and religious upheal that eventually lead to the rise of the early church.

There are selective Bible verses throughout the book along with quotes from theologians and scholars. Similar to A.D. The Bible Continues: The Book Of Acts, there are small biographical segments.

Espresso Stack Cup Review

Well, it's probably no surprise to my regular blog readers to find me reviewing a coffee related product. If you're a big coffee lover like I am, then you probably don't have room for all the cups, mugs and tumblers that you've collected over the years.

Just a few days, I accidentally dropped one of my favorite mugs, shattering into dozens of pieces. I would replace it with a new one, but I didn't any even have the space for the old one.

Recently, I was sent one of the Espresso Stack Cup to test out. What exactly is an Espresso Stack Cup?

Well, it's a small Le Bleu Bean mug that fits inside a small LEGO-like storage box. The mug retails for $25, but is currently available on for $12.77. While the ceramic mug only comes in one color (white), the box comes in either black or white. The idea is that you can stack up every Espresso Stack Cup that you own; saving you space.

Where's Friday? Insanity, Gossip Girl & the End of April!

I can't believe it's already Thursday and that it's the last day in April!

Where did the time go?

Oh, I've actually been busy all week writing reviews for this blog and trying to wrap up my first month of Insanity Max:30. Actually, I have three more days and I'll be finished with month one. While I haven't dropped one single pound on the scales, I have noticed a difference around my arms and chest. I should have took my measurements for starting the workout program, but I didn't.

Let me correct myself, I didn't get too many reviews written as I keep hopping over to YouTube and watching music videos, such as The Pretty Reckless, Halestorm and Dave Matthews Violinist Boyd Tinsley Serenades Grand Central Terminal!

Afterburn Pre-Workout Burn Fuel Review

If you have ever stumbled upon the "diet" section at your local Walmart, then you've probably seen the the different protein shakes & bars, creatine powders and energy drinks; all of which is supposed to help you recover from your workouts faster.

After I had made the decision to try out the Insanity Max: 30 workout program last month, I looked into what would be the best pre-workout supplement to take before exercising. I did some research online and read several great things about the Afterburn Pre-Workout Burn Fuel by Mike Chang Fitness.

The Afterburn (200 grams) comes in two different flavors: fruit punch and grape, which I was sent the fruit punch flavor. One container retails at $97, but can currently be purchased at for $67. One container holds 20 servings (scoops). Each serving is only 12 calories with 1g of fat and 2 g of sugar.

It contains an Afterburn Proprietary Blend of:

Get Jacked Matrix - 7500mg:
Creatinol O Phosphate (C.O.P.), L-Arginine AKG, Carnosyn Beta Alanine, Agmatine Sulfate, Creatine MagnaPower Magnesium Creatine Chelate, Citrulline Malate, Histidine AKG, Glycerol, Norvaline, Vanadyl Sulfate

Cognitive Energy Matrix - 1600mg:
ALCAR (Acetyl L-Carnitine), L-Tyrosine AKG, Caffeine Anhydrous, N-Methyltyramine HCL, COP Choline (from stablized Cytidine 5'diphosphocholine), Picamilon, Vinpocetine

Other Ingredients: Citric Acid, Glucose Polymers, Natural & Artficial Flavor, Sucralose, FD&C Red #40

Oral Testibol - Testosterone Booster Review

After I finished my third week of Insanity Max: 30, I finally decided to start lifting weights again (which I haven't done regularly in years). I know I keeping writing on here that I was going start earlier this year, but something kept holding me back that is until I forced myself to lift weights last Sunday. I could barely get out bed due to the fact that I was so sore on Monday morning, but I'm glad that I did. I have no plans of ever becoming a body builder, but I do hope to finally get in shape.

Of course jumping right into these types of workouts at my age (I'm 33) isn't easy without the use of protein shakes and dietary supplements. Earlier this month, I was sent a bottle (168 capsules) of Oral Testibol (Testosterone Booster) to review.

Each serving (2 capsules)

Bulbine Natalensis
Stinging Nettle Root Extract
Moringa Seed Extract
Safed Musli

Testosterone is the main key in building muscles, but as we get older our testosterone levels start to decline; that's where dietary supplements can play a big factor in building muscles. The Oral Testibol is manufactured right here in USA in a State-Of-The-Art Lab. It's FDA & CGMP Certified in regulated Facilities.

KastKing® Triton Spinning Fishing Reel Review

Many of my blog readers know that I'm a coffee lover and book worm, but they probably don't know that one of my favorite hobbies is fishing! Yes, an actual outdoor sport!

I've been fishing since I was a little kid. My father fishes and my late maternal grandfather was a big fisherman. Sadly, I don't have access to very many ponds/lakes in my area. There is only one lake and one small pond; though I still occassionally fish at those locations.

A few weeks ago, I was sent a complimentary KastKing® Triton Spinning Fishing Reel in exchange for my honest review. Of course I was excited to try out a brand new fishing reel!
The KastKing® Triton Spinning Fishing Reel is available in four different sizes: 2000, 2500, 3000 & 4000. I picked the 2500 for this review. It features 10 stainless steel shielded bearings, 1 instant stop anti-reverse bearing with 2 stainless steel ball bearings that supports the main shaft and Carbon Fiber Drag Washers. With a reel retailing between $49.98 - $54.98, you think it would come with some fishing line, but that isn't case with this reel as you need to purchase the fishing line separately.

Vitamin B-12 Super Energy Patch Review

Some of you might recall me reviewing a B-12 patch earlier this year, which I had mixed feeling about. I thought I would try out another patch, so I signed up to review B-12 Super Energy Patch from PurOrgancia. Each patch has 1200 mcg of Vitamin B-12 & 400 mcg of Folic Acid.

Many people have a B-12 deficiency, but taking a supplement won't guarantee that it'll enter your bloodstream. Placing a patch behind your ear or somewhere on the back of your neck, will help the B-12 enter into your bloodstream faster.

Having a B-12 deficiency can cause memory loss, poor equilibrium, muscle & joint pains, dizziness and daily fatigue.

Styles II Fitness Massage Body Stick Roller Review

When I started 2015, my main priority was to get into shape, but I've had several setbacks, include a few muscle strains and a few colds. Now, there isn't much I can do from preventing myself from catching the cold or flu, but I can help get rid or even prevent muscle strains without having to go to an expensive chiropractor or a massage therapist.

Earlier this month, I was sent the Styles II Fitness Massage Body Stick Roller to try out. The roller is basically an 18 inch metal bar with seven white rollers and black rubber handles on each end.

The roller is an effective therapy tool for muscle strains, pains and trigger points. It helps break down soft tissue, increases blood flow and increases circulation.

Eco Friendly BPA Free Sports Water Bottle Review

It seems when it comes to fitness everybody wants to be as eco-friendly as possible, especially when it comes to water bottles as nobody wants to be exposed to harmful chemicals.

A few weeks ago, I was sent an Eco Friendly BPA Free Sports Water Bottle to review. Ever since I started the Insanity Max: 30 program over three weeks away, I've been drinking twice as much water, so of course I was interested in a new water bottle.

A 2-pack of these water bottles goes for $14.97 on Amazon. These bottles are made from FDA APPROVED 100% food grade silicone. Each bottle holds about 20 ounces of water. The bottles are free of BPA and Phthalate. They're also dishwasher, microwave and freezer safe!

I fell in love with the Christian fiction genre when I was in my early 20s and since then I've been exposed to many great writers, including one of my new favorite authors, Colleen Coble. While Colleen is known for her historical romances, this time around she is releasing a thrilling mystery, titled The Inn at Ocean's Edge

The novel centers on a young woman, Claire Dellamare, whom is heading to the Hotel Tourmaline on the island of Folly Shoals, Maine for a business meeting. Returning to this hotel is bringing back haunting memories for her. She was four-years-old when she disappeared from the hotel and mysteriously showed up a year later with a note pinned to her dress. The police were baffled by the mystery and Claire doesn’t remember where she was for the missing year.

Around the same time of Claire's disappearance in 1989, Luke Rocco's mother also vanished. Now fate has brought Luke back to Hotel Tourmaline and his path crosses with Claire, who begins to have flashbacks from her childhood. They decide to team up in the attempt to unravel the mystery, but doing so might just bring a murderer into their sights.

Regenepure Intense Volumizing Biotin Conditioner Review

When I decided to expand my horizons by reviewing skincare products this year, I never dreamed I would be reviewing a hair product, but here I am writing a review for a conditioner.

Considering I my receding hairline came in when was eighteen-years-old (and I'm now 33), I don't exactly pay attention to the conditioners in the stores. Typically, I just grab a cheap bottle pf shampoo and that is it.

Recently, I became aware of how important Biotin is for your overall hiar health, so I was more than eager to try out the Regenepure Intense Volumizing Biotin Conditioner. Besides Biotin, it also has tea tree, jojoba oils, keratin, silk protein, copper peptides and saw palmetto. The conditioner is meant to unclog the hair follicles and replenish them with nutrients that can help kick start hair growth. It doesn't contain any parabens, sulfates or fragrances.

The ingredients include:

Spring Reads: Beauty's Kingdom

Beauty's Kingdom
by Anne Rice
writing as A.N. Roquelaure
Publisher: Viking
Pub. Date: April 21, 2015
ISBN: 978-0525427995
Pages: 368
Buy Link: Amazon

Anne Rice is known for blood thirsty Vampire Chronicles novels and the bewitching Mayfair Witches, but she also wrote the Sleeping Beauty trilogy under the pseudonym A. N. Roquelaure. Now the trilogy wasn't a Disney fairy tale, as the author put an erotic twist to the story. It's been 30 years since the third book, Beauty's Release, was published and now Anne Rice has returned to her erotic BDSM world with the long awaited sequel Beauty's Kingdom.

Beauty's Kingdom takes place 20 years after the trilogy. Queen Eleanor is presumed dead, leaving Beauty and her prince, Laurent, to take control of the kingdom. Beauty's plan is to continue the same sensual surrender that made Queen Eleanor's reign a legend, but with a slight twist - all erotic servitude must be voluntary only.

While the new kingdom's rules might be shocking to some, others (princes, princesses, lords, etc.) travel across the lands to witness and participate in the erotic paradise.

SUMO Ice Cream Scoop Review

You know it is officially spring when you hear the chime of the ice cream truck driving by. I've never been much of an ice cream lover, but I was given an small ice cream maker last fall and every once in awhile I make some homemade vanilla ice cream.

A few weeks ago, I was sent a stainless steel Ice Cream Scoop from SUMO.  I already own an old cheap scoop, but the the scoop is made from metal and starting to show some wear.

The SUMO scoop is pretty sturdy with a thick blue handle and a solid stainless steel scoop! The description states that the scoop is dishwasher safe. I tested it out and it is safe to use in the dishwasher! It always states that the scoop will never break, chip flake or rust.

Organic Lavender Oil Review & Giveaway

While it has never been scientifically proven that lavender oil has any health benefits as an n aromatherapy, its still a very popular scent.

The oil is distilled from the flower spikes of the Lavandula species. The biggest manufactures of lavender oil comes from Bulgaria.

A few weeks ago, I was sent a bottle of Organic Lavender Oil from AROMATA. The oil is distilled from flowering tops. The aroma is meant to help relax people of all ages (even kids). It can also help ease neck tension as well as calm stress and anxiety issues.

I've never been into essential oils until this year, but this is the first lavender oil that I've ever used. One little whiff of the oil does calms me down quickly. I've seen a few recipes where you can add a few drops in a facial mask and body scrub, but I haven't tried any of them yet. However, I have put a few drops into my humidifier and it really freshen up my bedroom with the wonderful scent.

The Marine 4: Moving Targets Blu-ray Giveaway

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and WWE Studios present the latest installment of the popular franchise The Marine as THE MARINE 4: MOVING TARGET arrives on Digital HD now and on Blu-ray, DVD and VOD April 21.

Enter to win a Blu-ray copy of THE MARINE 4: MOVING TARGET below and take a look back at some of the most popular wrestlers with careers in film and television.

Michael Gregory Mizanin/The Miz

WWE’s Michael Gregory "Mike" Mizanin, first gained fame as a cast member on MTV's The Real World: Back to New York, which first aired in 2001, and its spinoff series, Real World/Road Rules Challenge.

Hulk Hogan

One of the most famous wrestlers of all time, Hulk Hogan has also dedicated some of his time to making movies. He was part of numerous movies in the ‘80s and ‘90s like Rocky III, 3 Ninjas: High Noon at Mega Mountain, and Suburban Commando. From 2005 through 2007, Hogan had his own reality show that introduced him to a new generation.

Dwayne Johnson/The Rock

We cannot start off a list of wrestlers-turned-actors without naming Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. With his handsome good looks, physicality, and charming and kind personality, an acting career came easily to Dwayne Johnson. He has built a successful career (and an extremely supporting fanbase) from films such as The Mummy Returns, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Fast Five and Fast & Furious 6, Pain and Gain, and Hercules.

John Cena/Mr. P

FitSignals Loop Bands Review

I had never heard of loop bands until the Tapout XT workout program came out a few years ago. The program uses a loop band to enhance the workout routines. The one that came with the program was too light for me, so it gave me little resistance.

Several weeks ago, I was sent the FitSignals Loop Bands to review. It comes with three different bands: Light (yellow), Medium (blue) and Heavy (black). It also comes with a small storage bag and a small instruction booklet. This kit retails for $39.67, but it can currently be purchased on for $15.97!

Neo Towels Review

A good towel can come in handy after a great workout, but if you sweat like I do, one towel might not be enough. Luckily, there are now several towel brands that can absorb moisture at a fast rate, meaning you'll only need one towel during your workout.

Last week, I was sent a blue Neo Towels, which is a 24" x 47" microfiber towel. It retails around $40, but it can purchased on Amazon for under $25!

The towel is made from 80% polyester and 20% polyamide; resulting in a durable microfiber that is gentle to the skin. It's hypoallergenic and antibacterial. Unlike other microfibers, this towel isn't sticky or smelly.
