Sunday Post - Black Ambrosia, Grudge Match, and Escape To Witch Mountain

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer!

Good Morning, Everyone!

There's nothing more shocking than getting a jolt of electricity shot through your body in the middle of the night from an electric blanket! Yep, that's exactly what happened to me on Tuesday night. The odd thing is, I turned the blanket off. Don't worry, I'm feeling just fine. Let's just say, I couldn't go back to sleep that night for obvious reasons. I have unplugged the blanket from the outlet.

Review - Goosebumps SlappyWorld: Diary of a Dummy

I was a few months shy of being an 11-year-old during the summer of 1992 when I first ventured into the haunted world of Goosebumps by R.L. Stine after stumbling upon Welcome to Dead House and Stay Out of the Basement at a Walmart. I had no clue how popular the series would become until I saw other middle graders reading the books. Then it became a phenomenon when the low-budget anthology series debuted on Fox Kids in 1995. The love for all things Goosebumps disappeared by the start of the new millennium. Scholastic relaunched the Goosebumps franchise in 2008 with R.L. Stine returning to write the spinoffs Horrorland, Most Wanted, and SlappyWorld.

Blu-ray Review - Fit To Kill (1993)

The eighth installment of Andy Sidaris's Triple B series, Fit To Kill (AMAZON, Walmart, Best Buy), is now available to own on Blu-ray from Mill Creek Entertainment, who kindly sent me a copy, along with Hard Hunted, (read my review here) to review on this blog. It includes a movieSpree digital code.

The Triple B (L.E.T.H.A.L. Ladies) series began with 1985's Malibu Express and ended in 1998 with Return To Savage Beach. Andy Sidaris directed these films on a low-budget, with bad acting, cheesy dialogue, over-the-top violence, and plenty of nudity from Playboy Playmates and Penthouse Pets. Malibu Express is a private detective story, while the rest of the series centers on the operatives of The Agency (Molokai Cargo) in Hawaii.

Sunday Post - Locke & Key, The Turning, and The Kill Society

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer!

Good Morning, Everyone!

It looks like Missouri will lift the stay-at-home order on May 4th or 5th, but we're still in a state of emergency until June 15th. Probably not the smartest move by Governor Parson, especially with Memorial Day weekend only weeks away. There's no way people will keep to the six-foot rule for that weekend. I am staying at home, where it's safe.

Blu-ray Review - The Turning (2020)

I've been trying to figure out what the ending of The Turning meant. Did the governess and the children escape the Fairchild Estate? Or was she insane like her mother?

The Turning (Available on Blu-ray & DVD) is a modernized adaptation of The Turn of the Screw by Henry James. Juan Carlos Fresnadillo planned to direct the film under the title Haunted, but the producers replaced him with Floria Sigismondi.
