Blu-ray Review - Hard Hunted (1993)

Now available on Blu-ray (Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart) from Mill Creek Entertainment is Hard Hunted (1993; R; 97 minutes; $19.98), the seventh installment of Andy Sidaris' Triple B series (or otherwise known as Bullets, Bombs, and Babes), which are low-budget actioners with lots of topless women. The Blu-ray comes with a movieSPREE digital code.

Hard Hunted centers around Martin Kane (played by R.J. Moore), an arms dealer attempting to smuggle a nuclear trigger from China to Hawaii, so he can sell it to an evil midwestern leader. An undercover agent is murdered while trying to recover the nuclear trigger, which brings the L.E.T.H.A.L. Ladies (agents) of Molokai Cargo (also known as The Agency) into the fold.

Dona Speir and Roberta Vasquez return as Donna Hamilton and Nicole Justin, two L.E.T.H.A.L. who take it upon themselves to retrieve the stolen nuclear trigger from the bad guys, but things don't go as planned when Kane hires Raven (played by  Al Leong), along with his advanced helicopter, to stop them at all costs.

Bonus Features are:
  • Introduction by Director Andy Sidaris
  • Audio Commentary
  • Trailers
  • Behind the Scenes Featurette

Final Thoughts

I thought I had watched all of the Triple B series during my teenage years, but I guess I was wrong, as I don't recall ever seeing Hard Hunted before it was released on Blu-ray. The basic plot is very similar to the previous films — there's a villain, the L.E.T.H.A.L. Ladies are sent in to stop the villain, there are explosions, over the top violence, nudity, and sex. Just when the plot gets complicated or silly, a beautiful woman takes off her top! Yep, that sums up the plot!

Overall, Hard Hunted is an entertaining sleazy action flick that should appeal to many men (and a few women). If you grew up watching the Triple B series, then you're going to want to own Hard Hunted on Blu-ray.
