Popcorn & Coffee: Adventures In Babysitting

TV-G; 94 minutes; $19.99; Amazon
I'm sure many people cringe every time they hear the word "remake." In recent years, Hollywood has remade movie after movie, and almost all of them have been complete disasters.

Tonight, the Disney Channel will premiere their 100th original movie, titled Adventures In Babysitting, a remake of the 1987 classic comedy. The film will quickly arrive on DVD on June 28th. The only special features on the single-disc is Adventures In Outtakes - Watch these never-before-seen cast bloopers and laugh yourself silly! The DVD comes with a FREE Magnetic Photo Frame.

The remake centers on two high school seniors, Jenny Parker (played by Sabrina Carpenter) and Lola Perez (played by Sofia Carson), who accidentally switches cell phones while applying for a summer internship program. The girls are complete opposites of each other. Jenny is mature for her age, while Lola is free-spirited and never listens to the rules.

After receiving a call on Jenny's cell about a babysitting job, Lola poses as her and agrees to babysit Trey, Bobby and AJ Anderson. It seems like an easy way to make $20 an hour, but things go horribly wrong when the oldest kid, Trey, goes missing.

Jenny eventually figures out that her cell has been switched and heads over to the Anderson's house to retrieve it with the two kids, Katy and Emily Cooper, she is babysitting in tow. When Jenny realizes that Lola had lost Trey, she takes action and finds a few clues that pinpoints Trey's location. It seems he headed to the city to buy concert tickets at a pawn shop.

Jenny borrows the Anderson's car, dragging Lola and all the kids with her to big city to hunt for Trey. Sadly, things don't go as plan when the car gets towed away and two criminals are chasing after them.

Popcorn & Coffee: The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar

$19.99; 44 minutes; TV-Y; Amazon
Wow! I didn't realize that Disney's The Lion King is now over twenty-years-old. It's considered to be one of Disney's best animation films. It spawned two direct-to-video sequels (The Lion King II: Simba's Pride and The Lion King 1/2) and a spin-off television series, The Lion King's Timon & Pumbaa, which the latter ended in 1999.

The franchise seemed to be over until Disney Junior aired a one-hour pilot movie called The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar last year; followed by a weekly series that started on Jan. 15th. The pilot is now available on to own on DVD and Digital HD. The only bonus feature on the single-disc is the music video "Here Comes the Lion Guard" by Beau Black. It also comes with a 'free" talking backpack pull.

"Return of the Roar" centers on Simba and Nala's young son, Kion, who has developed a mighty roar. Upon hearing about his son's roar, Simba announces that he will reinstate the Lion Guard, which was once led by his evil uncle, Scar, and Kion will be the new leader. The Lion Guard are responsible for protecting "The Circle of Life" in the kingdom.

Kion's first assignment as the Lion Guard leader is to enlist a team of the best lions, but sadly he can't find any that would be the perfect fit. However, he invite his friends to join  - Beshte (a hippopotamus, the strongest), Bunga (a honey badger, the bravest), Ono (cattle egret, the keenest of sight) and Fuli (cheetah, the fastest).

Review:

Now available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD is this year's hit Pixar computer-animated film, Inside Out! Directed by Peter Docter, the film features the voice talents of Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Bill Hader, Lewis Black, Mindy Kaling, Richard Kind, Kaitlyn Dias, Diane Lane and Kyle MacLachlan. Bonus Extras includes: Story of the Story - Join Pete Docter & the story crew as they walk through the process of finding this story; Paths to Pixar: The Women of Inside Out; Mixed Emotions - Follow the filmmakers as they personify the emotions; Mapping the Mind - Explore the fascinating workings of our minds; Out Dads, the Filmmakers; Into the Unknown; The Sound of Inside Out; The Misunderstood Art of Animation Film Editing; All-New Short: Riley's First Date; and Lava Short Film.

When it comes to computer-animation, there's no company better than Pixar, whom has given us many classics, such as Toy Story & Finding Nemo. Their newest classic, Inside Out, took in nearly $900 million at the box-office over the summer.

The film centers on the emotions - Joy (voiced by Ay Poehler) Sadness (voiced by Phyllis Smith), Fear (voiced by Bill Hader), Anger (voiced by Lewis Black) and Disgust (voiced by Mindy Kaling) - of a young girl named Riley Andersen (voiced by Kaitlyn Dais). Riley grew up in a loving home in Minnesota, where her favorite passion is playing hockey, but that all changes when her parents, Bill (voiced by Kyle MacLachlan) and Jill (voiced by Diane Lane), force her to move San Francisco. While moving to a new house can be exciting, it isn't for Riley as the moving truck gets lost with all their stuff somewhere in Texas.

During this time, Sadness starts forming a bad habit of touching the happy memories, which turns them into sad memories. This causes Riley's first day of school to be a complete disaster when she cries in front of her whole class; resulting in a sad core memory being created. Joy attempts to stop the memory from being sent to the central hub, but ends up dumping the other core memories, which causes a chain reaction that starts to shutdown the personality islands.

Review:

Now available to own on Btu-ray, DVD and Digital HD is Walt Disney's Cinderella. No, I 'm not talking about the classic 1950 animation film, but I'm referring to this year's live-action version. Directed by Kenneth Branagh (Thor), the film stars Lily James, Cate Blanchett, Richard Madden, Sophie McShera, Holliday Grainger and Helena Bonham Carter. Bonus Features includes Frozen Fever Theatrical Short, A Fairy True Comes to Life - Filmmakers and stars reflect on Cinderella's enduring power; Staging The Ball - Experience the making of the lavish Palace Ball Sequence; Alternative Opening: Ella's Childhood - View added moments from Ella's Childhood; Ella's Furry Friends - See how the animal stars honed their memorable performances; and Costume Test Fun - See the work of Academy Award-winning® Costume Designer Sandy Powell (The Aviator, 2004) and share some lighthearted moments with the cast.

Based on the Charles Perrault fairy tales as well as the 1950 animated classic, Cinderella centers on a Ella (played by Lily James) who was raised by her father Ben Chaplin after her mother (played by Hayley Atwell) suddenly passed away. It was just her father and her until he announced that he had fallen in love on one of his business trip with a widow mother, Lady Tremaine (played by Cate Blanchett), and plans on marrying her.

Despite being shocked about the news, Ella becomes excited about the idea of having a step-mother and two step-sisters, Drisella (played by Sophie McShera) and Anastasia (played by Holliday Grainger), and lovingly accepts them into her home. Unfortunately, she figures out quickly that things aren't going to be fun when she is tricked into giving away her bedroom to her step-sisters in exchange for the dusty attic. Sadly, Ella's father had fallen ill and died on one of his business trips, leaving Ella alone with her evil step-mother and step-sisters, whom force her to become the maid (well, more like a slave) of the household.

Out of the blue, words gets out that the Prince (played by Richard Madden) is throwing a huge ball at his families kingdom and that he's searching for his princess that he briefly met in the woods, which just happens to be Ella.

Ever since graduating high school at an early age, Hiro spends his days participating in back-alley robot fights that is until his brother takes him to a cool robotics lab at the university and introduces him to several students, GoGo (voiced by Jamie Chung), Wasabi (voiced by Damon Wayans, Jr.), Honey Lemon (voiced by Génesis Rodríguez), and Fred (played by T.J.
