Welcome to the Book Blogger Hop!
This Week's Prompt:
How many "book" bags do you have? Do you use all of them?╍Submitted by Elizabeth, Silver's Review
My Answer:
I might be the odd duck in this literary flock, but when it comes to "book" bags, my collection is modest—just two humble totes from Half Price Books. These aren't your run-of-the-mill accessories; each bag is a worn testament to my sporadic pilgrimages to the hallowed aisles of a bookstore that feels like a cozy haven rather than a retail space. I venture there only once or twice a year, armed with a thirst for stories and a penchant for buried treasure among the dusty shelves. Those bags sit in my closet, biding their time for my next bookish adventure.

That's good restraint! Even before B&N started giving them as a part of their premium membership I was always buying a bigger and more sturdier bag for my book hauling. I used to acquire dozens of cheaper ones that couldn't hold but 1 or 2 from all the book conventions I used to attend. I'd come home with a dozen bags or so. Most were donated as they were more useful at the conventions than afterward.

I have two Half Price Books tote bags because the store I visit stopped supplying plastic bags. This change forced customers to either buy totes or bring their own bags.
DeleteLove that — it’s not about how many we have, but the memories tied to them.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, a tote or bag is just that—a tote or bag. The two totes I own serve their purpose. However, if I ever attend a book convention, I might pick up an additional tote or two. Other than that, I don't plan to go out of my way to collect various totes or bags.
DeleteI love a tote bag! We have so many that just lay around the house. I only have one specific book bag to house my current read and protect it from everyday life whilst I am reading it.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
That's a great way to use a book bag—to protect your books.
