In God. Family. Football., Denny Duron, a former high school football player and coach, takes charge of the team he previously coached in Louisiana. After 30 years in retirement, Duron returns to Evangel Christian Academy in Shreveport, Louisiana, a former high school football powerhouse that has fallen on hard times. The team—which has won 14 state titles in the previous 20 years; is coming off its worst season ever.
The six-part series follows Evangel Christian Academy's 2022 high school football season, which has produced more football players for the NFL and NCAA Division 1 college football programs than any other high school in the state and is attempting to rebuild.
Coach Duron's mantra of "God first, family second, football third" unites the squad as they strive and succeed both on and off the field.

My Review
I detest so-called "docuseries" since many seem too staged and skew more toward the "reality" television I consciously avoid. God. Family. Football. avoided all the issues I have with reality television and is filmed and edited in the same style as the fictional Friday Night Lights, a small-town football drama. The docuseries' six episodes are each exquisitely filmed in a way that will leave you feeling affected by the conclusion of each one. I've got excellent news for football fans: every episode includes at least one high school football game. I will caution you, though: not all of these games have happy conclusions—but that's real football, not the Hollywood version.
Overall, God. Family. Football. is a delightful high school football documentary series with inspirational messages about perseverance, family, faith, and caring for others. ╌★★★★★
