Sunday Post - Love and Monsters, The Witches, and Whispering Hearts

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer!

Good Morning, Everyone!

There was a little family Christmas get-together last night. No presents were exchanged, though, between my mom and me, we put together gift bags for my much younger cousins. And I had to make my cousins rolled sugar cookies in the shape of Christmas Trees. The kids are crazy for cookies.

I've finished all of my Christmas shopping except for one thing that'll come out on Tuesday, so I'll have to go shopping on one of the busiest days of the year. That'll be fun!

What Am I Reading?

I finished reading The Noel Letters by Richard Paul Evans. The review is pending; I might post it tomorrow. Sometime today, I'll be wrapping up Whispering Hearts by V.C. Andrews. Then I'll be reading The Year of the Witching by Alexis Henderson. I had borrowed it from OverDrive, and it's due back on Tuesday, so my main focus will be getting it to read in the next 36 hours.

My next reads will be Weeks: Book 2 by Jasyn T. Turley, and Writers of the Future, Vol. 36. I would like to get Weeks: Book 2 read and reviewed before Christmas Day, but I'll have to see what happens. I won't have to read Writers of the Future until after Christmas, but hopefully, I can get it reviewed before the end of the year.

What's in the Mail?

Last weekend, I received two bookmarks from a friend in North Carolina. (Read all about it here.) Then last Sunday afternoon, I received The Witches Blu-ray from the same friend. Then it occurred to me that my friend must have found my Amazon wishlist because there was no way she would have known I wanted The Witches. (FYI: The Witches is a 1966 Hammer horror flick.)

On Friday afternoon, I received the Love and Monsters Blu-ray from Paramount Home Entertainment, which doesn't officially come out until January 5th.

What's New on the Bookshelf?

The only newish title on my Kindle is The Hush Sisters by Gerard Collins, which I'll be reviewing in early January for a book tour.

  3. I'm glad you were able to meet your family. I tried to bake some cookies lately but they were hard and you could break your teeth trying to eat them, lol ! Have a great week :)
