Where To Purchase?
There are many people who love watching sappy (and campy) made-for-television Christmas movies but I'm not one of them. However, I am fan of Christmas romance novels. Actually, I probably read a bit too many of them around the holidays. Yes, these type of book are just as sappy as the movies but thankfully the plots and characters are more realistic. Hands down, my favorite Christmas romance author happens to be Richard Paul Evans. I stumbled upon "The Christmas Box" trilogy when I was in my late teens and I've been a fan of the author's writings ever since.
Noel Street was released last month by Gallery Books. It's the third installment of "The Noel Collection," though all the books in the series are standalone stories. The novel is set in 1975 and centers around Elle Sheen, a waitress who does the best she can do to raise her son, Dylan, by herself. After having learned that the repairs for her car is going to cost her a lot of money that she doesn't have, out of the blue, a stranger fixes her problems for free. This stranger is William Smith, a Vietnam War POW with his own share of issues as well as a secret past that's connected to Elle.
Overall, Noel Street is well-written holiday romance about healing and forgiveness. The characters are likeable and the dialogue feels very realistic. I highly recommend the title to other readers.
