Review - Max Lucado's Pocket Prayers

$9.99 each; Blog Tour, Amazon
There are many little bitty holidays and events that occur in the springtime, including Mother's Day, Father's Day, Memorial Day, graduations etc.. Arriving in bookstores just in time for these events are six Pocket Prayers books by bestselling author Max Lucado.

The Pocket Prayers titles are:

Pocket Prayers for Dads (co-written with Mark Mynheir) - 40 simple prayers that bring strength and faith.

Pocket Prayers for Moms (co-written with daughter, Andrea Lucado) - 40 simple prayers that bring peace and rest.

Pocket Prayers for Friends (co-written with Betsy St. Amant) - 40 simple prayers that bring joy and serenity.

Pocket Prayers for Graduates (co-written with daughter, Andrea Lucado) - 40 simple prayers that bring hope and direction.

Pocket Prayers for Teachers (co-written with blogger Jennifer K. Hale) - 40 simple prayers that bring peace and renewal.

Pocket Prayers for Military Life (co-written by Mark Mynheir) - 40 simple prayers that bring faith and courage.

Final Thoughts: I always have a hard time coming up with the perfect gift for Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc., so I think  these six new Pocket Prayers books by Max Lucado would make a cute present for almost any occasion. At around 110 pages, each book kicks off with an introduction from Max, followed by 40 simple, but meaningful prayers. Each prayer features a Bible verse that inspired it.

Overall, I have enjoyed reading all six Pocket Prayers titles. All the prayers are wonderfully written without feeling too preachy. Like I already mentioned, these little books would make great gifts for any holiday.
Update: I had forgotten to mention who I was going to give these little books to. Well, I'm going to give the Pocket Prayers For Moms to my mother for Mother's Day, which is only just over a month from now.

I have an elderly friend (well, more like an adopted grandmother) who had to be move into a nursing home last month due to her ailing health. I'm going to give her the Pocket Prayers For Friends as a Mother's Day present.
