Review:

Available to own on DVD is Cartoon Network's Steven Universe: Gem Glow, featuring 12 exciting episodes. The original Pilot episode is included on the single-disc as an extra.

Created by Rebecca Sugar, Steven Universe debuted on the Cartoon Network in November 2013 and it has received mostly positive reviews from critics. The series centers on four Crystal Gems (Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl and Steven), whom all draw their powers from gemstones. Steven inherited his gemstone from his mother. While Steven isn't helping the Crystal Gems, he spends his days in Beach City training to use his new-found power.

The episodes on the disc are:

Laser Light Cannon - A red eye threatens the city and the only way to stop it is to locate the Laser Light Cannon.

Gem Glow - Steven's favorite brand of ice cream sandwiches, Cookie Cat, have been taken off of the market.

Cat Fingers - While trying out his shape-shifting abilities, Steven turns his fingers into cats.

Bubble Buddies - After protecting Connie from a falling rock, Steven magically creates a magic crystal bubble, but now he can't get rid of it.

Tiger Millionaire - Steven joins a wrestling league.

Steven's Lion - Steven befriends a magical lion.

Onion Trade - Steven and Onion trade toys.

Giant Woman - Amethyst and Pearl fuses together and becomes a giant four-armed woman named Opal.

Lars And The Cool Kids - Steven and Lars hangout with the cool kids.

Rose's Room - Steven discovers a hidden room in the Temple.

Beach Party - The Gems get banned from the Fish Stew Pizza.

Steven And The Stevens - Steven uses time-travel to find him the perfect band-mate.

Special Feature: Pilot Episode -  Steven tampers with the time traveling device, so he can make snappy comebacks.

I don't watch the Cartoon Network very often, so I wasn't aware of the Steven Universe series until I watched this DVD over the weekend. For the most part, I thought the episodes on the single-disc were a bit too silly compared to other CN cartoons that I have watched, though the main character, Steven, is entertaining. Besides from the pilot episode, there are no other special features or extras. Overall, Steven Universe: Glem Glow is an average cartoon that should appeal to younger viewers, but adults might be slightly bored.
