Review:

Available now on Blu-ray from Cartoon Network is Rick and Morty: Season 1, featuring all 11 episodes. Special Features include Behind The Scenes Featurette, Commentary and Animatics For Ever Episode, Deleted Scenes, and Special Guest Commentaries Featuring Matt Groening, Robert Kirman, Pen Ward, Al Jean and Friends.

Created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, Rick & Morty debuted in December 2013 and has become a ratings hit for the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block. It has also won high-appraise from critics. Season 2 is set to air sometime in 2015.

The series centers on 14-year-old Morty Smith and his crazy alcoholic grandfather, Rick Sanchez. Despite his parents objections, Morty spends way too much time with grandfather, who creates bizarre inventions that takes them to different dimensions, planets and time.

Episodes on the single-disc are:

Pilot
Lawnmower Dog
Anatomy Park
M. Night Shaym-Alien!
Meeseeks and Destory
Rick Potion #9
Rasing Gazorpazorp
Rixty Minutes
Something Ricked This Way Comes
Close Rick-Encounters of the Rick Kind
Ricksy Business

I don't pay too much attention to the new programs airing on Adult Swim, which is why I have never heard of Rick and Morty until I reviewed the Season 1 Blu-ray this week. Surprisingly, this cartoon is pretty funny; like Back to the Future animated series, Futurama and Family Guy, all blended together. I'm not a big fan of today's animation, but the animation-style used here looks great. The plots are insane, but fun. Overall, I enjoyed watching Rick and Morty: Season 1 and I recommend it to others.
