Three Things That Really Get Done During Christmas Vacation by Suzan Butler

We see all these blog posts about what to do with our time during those two weeks when the kids are out of school and you’re trying to spend that vacation time before the end of the year. We all have grand ideas about cruises and skiing and visiting family and such.

In my book, O Christmas Three, my characters did exactly that. They packed up and spent Christmas in a lovely cabin in the woods. But unfortunately, that’s not possible for people the majority of the time. We have obligations at home, kids that have things going on, or pets that need tending to, or maybe we’re just not in the financial position to go anywhere that year.

Here’s three things I do during Christmas vacation:

  • Laundry. That’s right. I do small loads every day during the year, which means I always have something in the dirty laundry hamper. Christmas time comes, and I knock it out. It’s also when I pull out winter clothes and wash those, since here in Texas, it doesn’t really get cold until January or February.

  • Clean. Hauling out Christmas stuff means it’s time to dust and vacuum those little crevices I shortcut all year, because hey, I need a clean place to put the tree. This also happens when I put the tree away as well.

  • Eye Exams. You’d think I’d be smart and do this during the summer, but no. I always pick a day and go get the kids’ eyes examined, glasses prescriptions updated, and all that jazz.

So why wouldn’t a person want to indulge in a little Christmas fantasy when that’s what they have to look forward to on Christmas vacation?

So how about you guys? What do you have planned for the holidays?

Book Description:

Garrett and Brianna Zane have the perfect marriage on the surface. They share everything from love to their wildest sexual desires with ease. So when Brianna confesses she wants a threesome with his best friend Leobardo Vasquez, it awakens feelings Garrett has long tried to forget.

But the smoldering attraction between Leo and Brianna is hard to deny and even harder to dismiss when it’s all he can think about, especially when the three are trapped together in Leo’s cabin during a snowstorm. Seducing Leo will test their relationship, reveal old secrets, and maybe tear them apart. While there may be room for Leo in bed, there may not be room for a third in their marriage.
