Twenty-eight-year-old Grace Wallace has recently been elected as the new Police Chief of Clayton, Pennsylvania. Normally, the small town is peaceful, but lately there have been a string of unsolved murders. Prior to moving back to her hometown, Grace was a homicide detective in Philadelphia, where she helped track down a serial killer who drank human blood. The Clayton murders were similar to her old serial case as the victims' throats were slashed and drained of all their blood. Maybe a copycat killer?

The case is too big for the young Police Chief to handle, so the FBI are called in to help track down the killer. Of course the FBI agent assigned to lead the case is Grace's ex, Ian McHenry, in which she still has desires for. Ian wanted to be assigned to case as he has a connection to the killer. Ian is a vampire!

Here is the twist; Ian is also a vampire hunter! Yes, he is tracking down and killing his own kind. He knows who the killer is, a 400-something-year-old vampire!

As their old sparks start to resurface, Ian must confess that he is a vampire to Grace. Now knowing Ian's secret, Grace must work with the vampire hunter to stop the killer before it is too late.

A Hunter's Angel is a new take on the vampire paranormal romance genre and it at least has an interesting plot with the vampire serial killer. At first I thought I was reading the second or third book in the series, but no I was actually reading the first. This can be a bit confusing to the reader at first as you get a hint of Ian and Grace's past relationship. Maybe the author can write a prequel about Grace investigating the Philadelphia serial killer and her first encounter with Ian. The book is just over two hundred pages so I naturally read it in one sitting. There are a few steamy love scenes between the two main characters, but nothing that made me (a male reader) blush. I do have a problem with Grace being a police chief as she is only 28-years-old. Would someone that young be a police chief? Despite this small problem, I still enjoyed reading this thrilling vampire romance tale.

About the Author:

Cera duBois has a strong belief in never giving up on your dreams…

Although Cera was unable to read due to dyslexia and a learning disability until she was in the fourth grade, she always had a story to tell. She wrote her first novel in eleventh grade when she had to keep a journal for her academic English class. Since her life was far from exciting growing up as a farm girl in West Central Pennsylvania, she decided to rely on her imagination to give her something to write about. Over the course of the school year, she wrote a tangled romance set in the Deep South during the Civil War. Becoming an author was her ultimate dream. Despite holding a BS in secondary social studies education from Penn State University, she currently works full-time as a medical secretary. A mother of a teenage son and pre-teen daughter, she lives near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, with her husband of nearly 20 years. If she isn’t sitting in a quiet corner with her laptop, warm days will find her in the English garden surrounding her house. Cera loves to read and is interested in history, romance, science fiction and the paranormal. She also writes contemporary Westerns under her real name of Sara Walter Ellwood.
