My Answer:

I have a hardcover copy of House of the Seven Gables by Nathaniel Hawthorne that I have always wanted to read, but have never had the time to so. Maybe I'll try to read it in 2017.

  1. You should definitely read this novel, Billy! Hawthorne was a GREAT writer! I've only read "The Scarlet Letter", and that was a powerful book.

Good luck getting to read this classic! HAPPY NEW YEAR!! :)

  2. Ooh! That's a classic that is also on my list! I have a comic book version of it, but the not the actual original. I'll need to get my hands on it. :)

  3. I haven't read THE HOUSE OF SEVEN GABLES, but I am sure it is good. But then again, I may have read it and just forgot. :)

I know I read THE SCARLET LETTER in school. Not sure it is still read in high school these days.

Happy New Year and Happy Reading in 2017!!

    Happy Hopping!!

  5. I remember suffering through Scarlet Letter in high school but I have a feeling that's a book I'd get more out of as an adult. What I've heard about the actual story for Seven Gables makes me really curious. I hope you enjoy it!

  7. That is a great choice, Billy! It just so happens the classic I am really wanting to read in 2017, will be the first book I start in the new year. :-)

Thanks for hosting this wonderful hop! I hope you have a Happy New Year.

  9. This is my first time joining in! Fare well in your Hawthorne reading this year! The Scarlet Letter was quite enough for me. Ironically though he and Edgar Allan Poe are of the same genre (Dark Romanticism), I do like several of Poe's works.
