Review:

Being a coffee drinker, I enjoyed sipping on a cup of coffee while reading the recently released Miracle At The Higher Ground Cafe', a short novella by Max Lucado, Candance Lee & Eric Newman. Probably almost every reader has heard or has read a book by Max Lucado. For me, this is the first fictional book that I have read by the author.

Miracle At The Higher Grounds Cafe' centers on a Chelsea Chambers returning to her hometown in San Antonio to reopen the family's coffee shop, which is located on the lower floor of an old Victorian house. This isn't exactly her dream job, but it is a good distraction as she tries to forget about her separation from her NFL star husband, Sawyer Chambers, but it trouble seems to follow her as she receives notice from the IRS that the coffee shop owes $86,000.78. Now there is no way that she can pay that off in 30 days, so she does some negotiating and agrees to pay $9,555.64 per month for nine months, which means she needs to sell 155 lattes a day!

Luckily for Chelsea, she has a guardian angel, Samuel, looking over her, whom tweaks the WiFi router at the coffee shop. Now whoever uses the WiFi can only have access to one site - The God Blog, where anyone can have their prayers answered. Soon enough, Chelsea easily has the first month's payment for IRS, but the cafe's success will come with a price.

Review:

A new western novel is hard to come by these days, but there are many classic western adventures being re-released for a next generation of readers. Galaxy Press has been releasing paperback and audiobooks based on the western novellas and short stories from on the late author L. Ron Hubbard. These stories were published during the 30s' and 40s' or otherwise known as the Golden Age, a time when countless adventure stories appeared in Pulp Magazines.

The Baron of Coyote River was first published in the September 1936 issue of All Western Magazine and was released as an audiobook on February 1, 2010 along with the short story Reign Of The Gila Monster. The voice cast includes Martin Kove, Bruce Boxleitner, Bob Caso, R.F. Daley, Jim Meskimen (whom also directs), Fred Tatasciore, Josh R Thompson and Michael Yurchalk.

The first tale is centered on a wanted man, Lance Gordon, who has been dodging the the law ever since he killed his father's murderer, a Deputy Marshal, in a fair fight. There is a price on his head and everyone is out to get him, including the US Cavalry. He almost runs out of luck in Santos, when he is surrounded by the cavalry, but out of nowhere, a stranger, Tyler, rescues him. To return the favor, Lance agrees to ride to Coyote River to stop a cattle-stealing Baron.

100 % Pure Whey Protein Isolate -3 Single Serve Pk Review

I think many of us forget how important it is to include extra protein in our diets, especially if you are exercising and lifting weights on the regularly. Luckily, there are many different whey protein powders on the market that can solve this problem for us.

A few weeks ago, I received three sample packets (30.3 grams) of 100 % Pure Whey Protein Isolate (Dutch Chocolate) to test out. Unlike other brands, this protein powder is free of gluten, lactose, soy, whey concentrate, dextrose, maltodextrin, ion exchange whey and acid treated whey. It is also free of fat and sugar with no fillers, excipents, banned substances or hidden ingredients. Each packet has only 100 calories.

Sleep Tips For Daylight Saving Time

Hopefully nobody will forget that this weekend is the start of Day Light Savings Time (DST), you know the day when the clocks have to upgraded an hour, resulting in us losing an hour of sleep. While the benefits of the time change are still debatable, we all still have to put our clocks forward one whole hour.

To help everyone out, I have put together five tips to help you adjust to DST:

5 More Minutes - According to the new national survey from Sleep Number, only 54% of the respondents didn't think they were getting enough sleep. The DST hour loss doesn't help a bit. A lack of sleep can cause serious health issues, including depression. All you have to do to adjust to the new time change is to go to bed five to fifteen minutes earlier for 3 to 4 days.

Change the Batteries - Yep, nobody wants to wake up to a beeping smoke detector. Most decetors take nine-bolt batteries and they normally only last about six-months, so the perfect time to change them is when the time changes twice a year. I always install new batteries in my smoke detectors during the DST weekend, so I can guarantee I'll get a perfect night's sleep.

Prepare For the Future - Fast forward an hour on all your clocks on Saturday afternoon as this way you'll already be on DST time and you can go to bed one hour earlier. Make sure not to drink too caffeine during the day; don't drink any coffee past 11 AM.

5 Unusual Ways to Motivate Yourself to Write

When it comes to writing tips, there are thousands of tips out there. Even though there are thousands of posts out there covering the same topic, many of these writing tips offer the same advice.

Today, I’m sharing with you a few unconventional ways that I’ve found work well to motivate yourself to write even when you don’t want to or don’t feel good.

Music

Music is a powerful mood-lifter, and it can also help you concentrated by blocking out unwanted noise and distractions. Some music acts like a sort of white noise that is ideal for writing and focusing. I’ve shared before how I like to listen to Biffy Clero, but there are thousands of artists out there that have created perfect music for writers. I particularly like these hobbit-themed songs.

 Dress Well

If you dress poorly, you won’t be motivated to do anything. I find that putting on something nice can dramatically improve my productivity, even if I really don’t feel like doing anything at all. Try it next time you sit down to write. Rather than wear comfy clothing, put on something you would wear to the office. You may be surprised at the difference.

Go to a New Location

It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me, but transporting yourself to a new location can work wonders for your productivity. I like writing at coffee shops, bookstores, and even swimming pools. You will get even more done if you don’t sign into the wifi.

 Try a New Writing Style

Bored of your current writing style? Why not try something different? If you always write news-style pieces, try writing a fiction piece instead. If you always write blog posts, try switching to magazine feature pieces. This not only keeps you from feeling bored, but it also expands your marketable skills.

Read Others

Reading the work of others is inspiring in two ways, according to Orson Scott Card. One, it will inspire you to try your best to create something amazing like that writer. Or, two, it will show that even *I* can write something better than that. Both of these views are powerful motivators.

What unusual motivation methods do you use?

Review:

In my humble opinion, last year's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles feature film reboot was a complete letdown and next year's Ghostbusters all-female reboot looks like a major disaster. Luckily, the Nickelodeon TMNT animated series has ignored all the errors the 2014 movie made and has turned out to be a great cartoon. TMNT has continued to appear in comic book form with this May's release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters, which combines all 4 issues from the crossover mini-series.

The crossover occurs when Donatello tests out Fugitoid's Interspatial Teleportation Unit and accidentally zaps himself, along with Michelangelo, Leonardo, Raphael, April O'Neil and Casey Jones, to a parallel dimension. They literally crash a church wedding  and before they can figure out where they are, a supernatural demon is unleashed - a Japanese warlord named Chi-You.

Chi-You takes possession of Casey Jones and the wedding guests, turning them all into his minions. Out of nowhere, the Ghostbusters (Dr. Peter Venkman, Dr. Raymond "Ray" Stantz, Dr. Egon Spengler & Winston Zeddemore) arrive to save the day, well, kinda, as Chi-You is much stronger than your average ghost, so they ghost-busting team must team up with the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to stop the demon and his league of minions.

Then you can design the layout for the blanket. You can choose from a variety of different backgrounds and add text blocks. The blanket can feature one big picture or multiple pictures in a collage.
