Loosely based on the 1985 comedy of the same name, Teen Wolf debuted on MTV in the summer of 2011 and has become of one of MTV's biggest scripted hit. Before Season 5 kicks-off on June 29th, fans can grab their hand on this 3-disc DVD release, so they can either get caught up or rewatch your favorite episodes.

"The Dark Moon" takes place two months after the events of season 3, where Scott and his friends head to Mexico in search of the the Calaveras - a Spanish hunter clan, in the hope to learn the whereabouts of Derek. Shortly, they learn that Kate Argent (played by Jill Wagner) is alive and has brought back the teenage version of Derek.

Scott (played by Tyler Posey), Stiles (played by Dylan O'Brien), Lydia (played by Holland Roden) and Kira (played by Arden Cho) return to Beacon Hills to try to live some sort of normal life, but of course Kate Argent is close by to cause problems, along with a new threat - The Benefactor.

Arriving on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Video this Tuesday March 10, 2015 is the horror-comedy Wolfcop. Directed by Lowell Dean (13 Eerie), the film stars Leo Fafard (Corner Gas: The Movie), Amy Matysio (Lawrence & Holloman), Jonathan Cherry (Final Destination 2), Aidan Devine (Outlander) and Sarah Lind (Severed). Special Features include Film Commentary with Writer/Director Lowell Dean & Special Effects Artist Emersen Ziffle, The Birth of Wolfcop, Wolfcop Music Video, Film Outakes and Trailers.

Set in the small town of Woodhaven, Wolfcop centers on an alcoholic cop Lou Garou (played by Leo Fafard), who ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time late one night. He awakens to find a pentagram carved on his chest. He gets dressed and heads off to work, but quickly realizes that something is definitely not normal especially when his senses become heightened and his body hair begins to grow at an alarming rate.

While his pal, Willie Higgins (played by Jonathan Cherry), tried to convince him that he is now a werewolf, Lou doens't want to believe it, well, that is until Willie shows him video proof of the transformation. Now fully aware of what he is, Lou uses his new-found powers and a souped-up car to take a bite out of crime as Wolfcop!

Halloween is only a few weeks away, which means there will be countless horror films being aired on basic cable channels for the rest of the month, including a few werewolf movies. No, I'm not referring to the overrated Twilight Saga. I'm referring to An American Werewolf in London, The Howling franchise and the Underworld movies. This month also marks the release of several straight-to-DVD titles, including Image Entertainment's Werewolf Rising, which will arrive on DVD this Tuesday October 14, 2014.

Werewolf Rising centers on a newly recovering alcoholic, Emma (played by Melissa Carnell), who leaves the big city life behind her to take a much need R&R at her family's cabin in the Arkansas hills, but getting a goodnight sleep will be a lot harder than she thought with all the howling coming from the woods at night.

Unlike the previous films in the series, Howling IV: The Original Nightmare was released to direct-to-video (aka VHS) in 1988, originally released by Warner Bros., but Echo Bridge Home Entertainment now owns the rights to it.

I've only seen a handful of the Howling movies out of the eight movies that have been made so far, the last one, Howling Reborn, came out last year. I recall seeing this movie advertise on a local channel in the early 90s and of course my mom let me watch it probably just so I would stop pestering her about it. The movie had commercials, so naturally it would be edited for broadcast television. For the actually movie, I only remember bits and pieces of it until I finally bought the DVD a few months ago for only five dollars.

For anyone who has actually read Gary Brandner's The Howling novel, you'll know that the first movie barely went by it, but Howling IV: The Original Nightmare is the only movie that almost completely goes by the book except that the names have been changed and there is no rapist in it. The film was made for fewer than two-million dollars. It won the 1988 Golden Chainsaw award for Best Direct-to-Video Feature from Fangoria, but it received mostly negative reviews from fans due to the small amount of time the werewolves appeared.
