Release Day Tuesday: Big Hero 6: The Series - Back In Action! DVD

Yes, I'm well aware that today is Wednesday and not Tuesday. I meant to have this post published yesterday, but due to some computer issues, I'm just now posting it.

Anyway, Big Hero 6: The Series - Back In Action! arrived on DVD yesterday from Disney Home Entertainment, featuring the 44-minute Disney Channel Television Movie and six 22-minute episodes. Bonus features include 6 shorts - Baymax and Hiro; Baymax and Wasabi; Baymax and Go Go; Baymax and Fred; Baymax and Honey Lemon; and Baymax and Moch.

The adventures continue for tech genius Hiro Hamada and his healthcare companion, the lovable, inflatable Baymax! Picking up right before the end of the film, Hiro thinks Baymax is lost forever, until he finds the chip Tadashi designed to create Baymax. Hiro immediately gets to work rebuilding Baymax, but Hiro’s overconfidence and impatience get him into trouble. The stakes are raised for Hiro, Baymax and their friends – adrenaline junkie Go Go, control freak Wasabi, chem whiz Honey Lemon and fanboy Fred – as they fight to protect San Fransokyo as the legendary superhero team Big Hero 6.
Voice Cast: Ryan Potter as Hiro; Scott Adsit as Baymax; Jamie Chung as Go Go; Genesis Rodriguez as Honey Lemon; Khary Payton as Wasabi; Brooks Wheelan as Fred; and Maya Rudolph as Aunt Cass

Release Day Tuesday: The Walking Dead: The Complete Eighth Season

I don't recall if I have mentioned this on here before, but one of my favorite television series is AMC's The Walking Dead. Through the good and the bad, I have continued to watch the series throughout the years.

Anyhow, today, AMC and Lionsgate Home Entertainment announced that The Walking Dead: The Complete Eighth Season will be released on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital on August 21st!

Season 8 centers on the Hilltop, the Kingdom, and the Alexandrians joining forces to bring "All Out War" to Negan and his army. The Saviors are larger, better equipped, and ruthless, but Rick and the unified communities are fighting for the promise of a brighter future. The battle lines are drawn as they launch into a kinetic, action-packed offensive.

The series stars Andrew Lincoln (Love Actually, Heartbreaker, TV’s “Strike Back”), Norman Reedus (The Boondock Saints, Triple 9, Blade II), Chandler Riggs (Get Low, Mercy), Melissa McBride (The Mist, The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys), Lauren Cohen (All Eyez On Me, The Boy), Danai Gurira (Black Panther, All Eyez On Me), Lennie James (Snatch, Lockout, Colombiana), Alanna Masterson (TV’s “Mistresses” and “Grey’s Anatomy”), Josh McDermitt (TV’s “Twin Peaks” and “Mad Men”), Seth Gilliam (Starship Troopers, TV’s “Teen Wolf”), Christian Serratos (The Twlight Saga, Flight 7500), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen, TV’s “The Good Wife” and “Grey’s Anatomy”), and Khary Payton (TV’s “Young Justice” and “The Lion Guard").

Release Day Tuesday: DONNA, Book Two of the Girls of Spindrift

Arriving this week from Pocket Books eBook is the e-novella DONNA, book two in the Girls of Spindrift series, by V.C. Andrews, the New York Times bestselling author of Flowers in the Attic and My Sweet Audrina. CORLISS, the first book in the four part series, was released earlier this summer. The series is a prequel to the standalone novel Bittersweet Dreams (available on paperback).

The second book in The Girls of Spindrift series is DONNA (Pocket Star EBook; August 14, 2017; $1.99). Being gifted is not something Donna ever wanted. It’s difficult enough to have a Latino father and Irish mother, and her genius only separates her even more from the other girls. They don’t say it, but they blame her for everything that goes wrong, just because she’s different.

And on the precise day she tries her hardest to fit in, everything turns out a disaster. A fight breaks out, and somehow Donna ends up in the middle. It’s not her fault, but it’s her word against theirs, and this time, the other girls aren’t going to stay quiet. The only solution might be to escape to the mysterious school her counselor is telling her about: Spindrift.

NOTE: I already reviewed CORLISS and DONNA in June, which you can read the review here. I had reviewed Bittersweet Dreams in 2015 (read my review here).
