DVD Review - Power Rangers Ninja Steel: The Complete Season

The Power Rangers franchise is celebrating it's 25th year with a special Super Ninja Steel anniversary episode which will air on Nickelodeon on Monday night. In the meantime, fans can spend their time watching the Power Rangers: Ninja Steel: The Complete Season  DVD, which was just released last week from Lionsgate Home Entertainment.

Adapted from the Japanese Shuriken Sentai Ninninger series, Power Rangers Ninja Steel centers around an the most popular intergalactic game show called Galaxy Warriors, which the participants must battle to prove who is the greatest warrior. The reigning champion Galvanax arrives on Earth in search of the mythical Ninja Nexus Prism, which will give him the power to be invisible. To protect his two sons, Master Dane Romero split the Nexas Star into six separate stars, which were made from the Nexus metal, and he sacrifices himself. Galvanax wasn't completely defeated that day, as his minions Madame Odius and Ripcon captured Master Romero's youngest son, Brody.

Fast forward ten years,  when the Ninja Nexus Prism, which contains the Ninja Power Stars, appears on Galvanax's ship. A teenage Brody, an alien friend Mick Kanic, and a robot named Redbot escape with the Prism to Earth, where they crash land near the town of Summer Cove. Galavanax sends his best warriors to retrieve Ninja Power Stars, but it's too late!

The Prism gives Brody one of the Ninja Power Stars, which gives him the power to become the Ninja Steel Red Ranger. Four random teenagers are given their own stars as well. Preston Tien becomes the Ninja Steel Blue Ranger; Calvin Maxwell becomes the Ninja Steel Yellow Ranger; Hayley Foster becomes the Ninja Steel White Rangers; and Sarah Thompson becomes the Ninja Steel Pink Ranger.

Later, in the season a sixth Ranger is introduced - Levi Weston, who becomes the Ninja Steel Gold Ranger. Together, the Rangers battle Galvanax, his warrior contestants and minions to save Earth from being destroyed.

Power Rangers Ninja Steel: The Complete Season contains all 22 episodes from the twenty-fourth season on a 3-disc set, including the Halloween and Christmas specials. There are no special features or bonus extras. However, it does comes come with an excerpt from the upcoming Boom! Studios artist tribute book!

Popcorn & Coffee: Saban's Power Rangers Dino Super Charge: The Complete Season

Landing on DVD on June 27th from Lionsgate Home Entertainment is Saban's Power Rangers Dino Super Charge: The Complete Season, featuring 20 action-packed episodes from the franchise's 23rd season. There are no special features or bonus extras on the 4-disc set.

Power Rangers Dino Super Charge aired throughout 2016 on Nickelodeon, picking up shortly after the events of the first season (Power Rangers Dino Charge). Believing that Sledge, an intergalactic bounty hunter, has been killed, the Rangers (Tyler, Chase, Shelby, Koda, Riley, Sir Ivan of Zandar, Kendall, and Prince Philip III) have begun to move on with their lives, but sadly they won't have much time to relax, as a new threat has emerged from the ashes - Heckyl and his armored half Snide.

With Heckyl/Snide teaming up with what's left of Sledge's henchman, the Rangers must join forces with two new Rangers -  the Aqua Ranger (Tyler's missing father, James) and the Silver Ranger (an alien named Zenowing), so they'll be strong enough to save Earth.

DVD Review - Power Rangers Dino Super Charge: Extinction DVD Review

Now available from Lionsgate Home Entertainment is is Saban's Power Rangers Dino Super Charge: Extinction, featuring the final 10 episodes of the twenty-third season of the Power Rangers franchise on a 2-disc set. There are no special features or extras.

Power Rangers Dino Super Charge is the second and final season of the Dino Charge series, which aired last year on Nickelodeon. The group of heroes consists of Tyler the Red Ranger, Shelby the Pink Ranger, Koda the Blue Ranger, Riley the Green Ranger, Chase the Black Ranger, and Ivan, the Gold Ranger. Lead by an alien called Keeper and archaeologist Kendall, who the becomes the Purple Ranger at the end of season one, the Rangers battle the evil alien bounty hunter Sledge and his army of monsters. Occasionally, they get help from Prince Philip III of Zandar, aka the Graphite Ranger.

Season Two mixed things up a bit by putting Heckle/Snide as new the villain, who unleashes what was left of Sledge's henchmen upon the Power Rangers. Two new Power Rangers are introduced - an alien bird creature Zenowing the Silver Ranger, and James Navarro the Aqua Ranger, who happens to be Tyler's long lost father. Of course Sledge eventually returns near the end of the season (series) and uses the Dark Energem against the Rangers.

Episodes on the 2-disc set are:

  • "Love at First Fight" - Beauticruel uses a magic brush to make the Red Ranger fall in love with her.
  • "Catching Some Rays" - After visiting Koda's old cave, the Rangers accidentally releases a monster that makes people only focus on having a vacation.
  • "Recipe for Disaster" - Lord Arcanon arrives on Earth with his henchman to destroy the Power Rangers by taking control of their zords.
  • "Silver Secret" - The Silver Ranger introduces himself to the other Dino Charge Rangers.
  • "Wings of Danger" - Heckle escapes his cell and begins to recall his past life.
  • "Freaky Frightday" - A monster causes the Rangers to switch bodies.
  • "Worgworld"- Two new monsters, Conductro & Screech, causes anyone who hears their music to turn into zombies.
  • "The Rangers Rock" - The Rangers are turned into stone by the monster called Badussa.
  • "Edge of Extinction" - Sledge plants Greenzilla eggs all around the world, which leads to all the Dino Charge Rangers to race against time to stop the monsters from destroying Earth.
  • "End of Extinction" - To stop Sledge forever, the Rangers must travel back to the time of dinosaurs to retrieve the Energems.

DVD Review - Power Rangers Dino Charge: The Complete Season

Arriving on DVD today from Lionsgate Home Entertainment is Saban's Power Rangers Dino Charge: The Complete Season, featuring all 20 episodes and 2 holiday specials on a five-disc set. There are no special features or extras.

Power Rangers Dino Charge is the twenty-second season of the popular franchise. The season originally debuted on Nickelodeon in February 2016; introducing a new group of Power Rangers - Tyler Navarro, the Red Ranger (played by Brennan Mejia), Chase Randall, the Black Ranger (played by James Davies), Shelby Watkins, the Pink Ranger (played by Camille Hyde), Koda, the Blue Ranger (played by Yoshi Sudarso), and Riley Griffin, the Green Ranger (played by Michael Taber).

Together, along with their mentors, archaeologist Kendall Morgan (played by Claire Blackwelde) and the alien "Keeper" (voiced by Richard Simpson), the Power Ranger must battle the evil Sledge, an intergalactic bounty hunter, and his army of minions and monsters. They must find a way to retrieve all the Energems that were scattered across Earth 65,000,000 years ago, before Sledge gets his hands on them.

In the latter half of the season, two more Rangers were introduced - Sir Ivan of Zandar, the Gold Ranger (played by Davi Santo), and Prince Philip III, the Graphite Ranger (played by Jarred Blakiston) to the team. Later, Kendall bonds with the purple Energem and becomes the Purple Ranger.

DVD Review - Power Rangers Dino Charge: Hero

Now available on DVD from Lionsgate Home Entertainment is Saban's Power Rangers Dino Charge: Hero, featuring four exciting episodes from the 2015 season. As an added bonus it features the Christmas Special "Race to Rescue Christmas."

Loosely based on the Japanese Super Sentai series Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger, Dino Charge debuted in early 2015 as the twenty-second season of the Power Rangers franchise. The main plot focused on a alien named Keeper scattering ten Energems across Earth 65 million years ago. Fast forward to the present day, where five new young adults, including a caveman, have been chosen by the energems to become the new Power Rangers to stop the alien bounty hunter Sledge and his evil minions from destroying Earth. Later during the season, an 800-year-old knight, Sir Ivan joins the team as the Gold Ranger.

The episodes on the single-disc "Hero" are the final episodes of the first Dino Charge season. The episodes are:

"World Famous! (In New Zealand)" - The Power Rangers heads to New Zealand to locate the purple energem before Sledge's latest monster finds it.


"Deep Down Under"  - Still in New Zealand, the Rangers are in a race against time to find the Plesio Zord before Sledge can get his hands on it.
