Book Blogger Hop: What Will Happen to Your Books?

Welcome to the Book Blogger Hop!

This Week's Prompt:

If you had to, would you pass your book collection on to someone special? If not, what would you prefer your family, or friends do with your books after you’re gone?
╍Submitted by Billy, Coffee-Addicted Writer.

My Answer:

I’m a bachelor, so I don’t have any children to whom I can pass my books after I die. If I ever get married and have kids—which is a big if—I would leave my books to my family. I don’t have any close friends, so if my parents are still alive, I would leave my books with them. They can choose to sell them, donate them, or give them away to someone else; it really doesn’t matter to me. After all, I would be gone, so my feelings about it wouldn’t count. If only I could be buried with all of my books!

  1. I pretty much had the same answer. I will likely leave them to my niece and nephew. What happens after that is beyond my control. Though I wouldn't mind being buried with my unread ones! Lol.

  2. I didn't do the post today, but I have told my son to donate to the library or hospital or stuff some little free libraries. He reads, but won't want to transfer all of the books I have to his home. :)

  3. I feel the same. Stories are meant to be read, not stored out of guilt. If no one felt a personal connection to them, I’d rather they be donated to a library, a community organization, or passed along to other readers who will actually open them.Happy Reading!

  4. I have kids but they are too young at the moment to really appreciate them. My other option would be my sister. I doubt my partner would want them. Like you say I won't be there so it won't bother me 😂

    Have a great weekend!

  5. Hopefully, certain titles will go to friends/family who I know will appreciate them, and then my poor wife will be saddled with taking care of the rest in a humane manner.

  6. I do hope my family would donate my books to the library if there are any that they do not wish to keep. This is a good question to ponder on and ask them what they would do. Have a good weekend!
