The Sunday Post, #273: Unveiling the Latest Book Acquisitions: From Michael Connelly to Daphne du Maurier

Happy Sunday, Everyone!

Last week, the Book Blogger Hop posed an intriguing question: "Do you have a monthly budget for books? If so, how much is it? Have you ever gone over your limit?"

On the Gunsmoke & Grit blog, I shared my thoughts on Janice Holt Giles's memoir, Around Our House

This past week was a whirlwind, which pushed my planned reviews from last week to this one. So, keep an eye out for my take on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Toward the Night by James Swallow and Cold Trail by Taylor Moore.

Additionally, I'll be exploring Stephen Graham Jones' The Buffalo Hunter Hunter over on Gunsmoke & Grit

As for my reading agenda, I'm bouncing between Mark Greaney's Sentinel and Talk of the Devil: The Collected Writings of Ian Fleming

I received a new ARC: Nightshade by Michael Connelly. I’m hesitant to label it as an ARC now since the publisher took quite some time to send it—by now, the book has already hit the shelves.

I recently found Red Warnings by Matthew Quick at Dollar Tree. I forgot to mention in my previous Sunday posts that I also picked up Never Flinch by Stephen King, We Live Here Now by Sarah Pinborough, and The First Gentleman by James Patterson and Bill Clinton.  Just this past week, I bought With a Vengeance by Riley Sager.

I discovered some older hardback editions with jackets for Daphne du Maurier's My Cousin Rachel and The House on the Strand. I also grabbed Op-Center: Mirror Image by Jeff Rovin, The Great Train Robbery by Michael Crichton, Top Gun by Mike Cogan, and The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. There are a few more books in the mix, so be sure to check them out on my other blog, Gunsmoke & Grit

How has your week been? What fantastic books are you currently immersed in? I’d love to hear about them!

  1. Nice haul! Sorry to hear your ARC arrived late. I feel as if I might be in the same boat soon with one I won off Goodreads almost 2 months ago. I think I was going to give it another week before trying to reach out to the publisher on that one. I read in three different places on Goodreads when to contact the publisher about these things and all three gave different dates! So yeah, feel like I'll be getting the ARC of that one around the time my preorder arrives!

Hope you enjoy all of your new reads!
