I don't think I have ever really bought the wrong book. I usually know ahead of time what I am looking for. Even before Goodreads I was always writing down the titles of books I wanted and keeping a "list" in my purse. I still keep a list of new releases with me so I know what to look for or what I've preordered. And with Goodreads I at least mark the books I "want" to read and "want to own" so to speak.
