My Answer:

Yes, it’s likely happened to me more than once with used books. I might have been thinking of a similar title and ended up picking the wrong one, or perhaps I was sifting through a stack of books and accidentally grabbed the incorrect title by the same author. When this occurs, I make sure to double-check the copy I already own. If the new one is in better shape, I’ll part ways with the old one; either way, I always donate the extra copy.

  1. I don't think I have ever really bought the wrong book. I usually know ahead of time what I am looking for. Even before Goodreads I was always writing down the titles of books I wanted and keeping a "list" in my purse. I still keep a list of new releases with me so I know what to look for or what I've preordered. And with Goodreads I at least mark the books I "want" to read and "want to own" so to speak.
