Billy's Answer:
I want to suggest Frank Herbert's "Dune" because more academics are recognizing its importance in literature. The same is true for J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy. At the moment, I can't think of any other books.
Unfortunately, I'm one of those people who very much did not enjoy Dune, although I can accept why other people might want to include it!
ReplyDeleteI loved the movies of both Dune and The Lord of the Rings, although I did try to read The Hobbit, but could not get through it. I might try again, and hopefully, this time around, it will work out :)
ReplyDeleteI've not read Dune. I've read The Hobbit and seen the films of that and Lord of the Rings.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

I haven't read any of those myself. I guess I wasn't grasping by what we meant with "canon" in terms of relating it to school/required kind of reading. I think the only book I would say is The Princess Bride just because of all the archetypes that I remember discussing about it in elective English classes! Lol and then of course you have the movie and comparisons!

Have a GREAT day!
