{Sunday Post} - Best. Movie. Year. Ever.

The Caffeinated Book Reviewer's Kimberly hosts a weekly meme called "The Sunday Post"!

Hello, fellow bloggers!

  • My canker sore has healed, but my allergies have gone into high gear. I'm blaming it on the weather.

  • I finished painting the kitchen in my mother's house. She may not mind, but I don't want to paint anything else, like the living room. My legs are tired from constantly stepping up and down a ladder.

  • The cable and internet have been acting strangely all week. The cable technician checked but found nothing wrong. As soon as he left, the cable and internet went out. Everything worked fine on Friday, but the outage returned for the majority of Saturday.

  • For the rest of the season, I'm done with baseball. The Kansas City Royals are 51-77.

What Am I Currently Reading?

I managed to get some reading done. I finished Long Live the Pumpkin Queen and The Bourne Sacrifice. I'm currently on page 212 of James Patteson and James O. Born's Shattered. When I finish it, I'll move on to Karen Slaughter's Girl, Forgotten.

What has Arrived in the Mail?

This week's mail didn't contain any noteworthy items, including any books or movies.

What is New on the Shelf?

I don't need any more books, but here I am showing off my recent thrift store finds. I got two paperbacks, The Crooked Staircase by Dean Koontz and Deliver Us From Evil by David Baldacci, and two hardbacks, The Night Fire by Michael Connelly and "Best. Movie. Year. Ever." by Brian Raftery, for a total of 70 cents.

I don't need to explain why I collect Dean Koontz books or why Michael Connelly and David Baldacci are my current literary obsessions, but I might need to explain why I wanted "Best. Movie. Year. Ever." by Brian Raftery. My nostalgia launched as soon as I saw the cover. I've been a movie fan my entire life, and this book covers films released in 1999, the year I turned eighteen. Nearly every movie discussed in this book has been viewed by me, including those that I saw in theaters. God, I'm getting old.

I took two free books from the library: The Countess by Rebecca Johns and Presumed Dead by Mason Cross.

  1. That stinks about the cable and internet. Always works fine when the technician is there, but as soon as they leave it goes back to being unstable. Hope you can get it worked out soon!

Nice new reads! Those are all new to me ones! The Countess sounds interesting! I'm guessing it might be a Countess of Bathory book? She was always an interesting part of history I thought!

Hope you enjoy the new reads!

  2. Sounds busy painting. My partner painted my son's room (3 years ago now) and hated it so much that we paid my dad to paint our lounge/dining/kitchen.

The internet annoys me when it goes funny. My 4 year old son doesn't understand that on demand TV is via the internet 😂

Hope you have a great week ahead!

    1. Painting is the simple part. I dislike cleaning the walls and putting down painter's tape.

Many people are unaware that steaming originates on the internet.
