  Billy's Answer

I usually leave the jackets on newer books, though I might remove the dust jacket from a coffee table book. For older novels, I'll gently remove the jackets before reading.

  1. For me it usually depends on how well the dust jacket will stay on the book when I am reading it. There have been a handful that I had to remove when reading because the book just slips and slides too much when I'm reading that it's distracting. So I will remove those and set them aside when reading. Otherwise, I pretty much leave them on.
