When you have drunk an entire bottle of white wine, coaxing a rather skittish garden spider into a clear plastic tumbler using only an old birthday card becomes more of a challenge to hand-eye coordination than it is at other times; a challenge that is not helped by a partially unclothed fiancee on the edge of hysterics, who, despite her announcement that she would wait in the kitchen, is instead leaning over your shoulder and offering advice.

My Thoughts

Yesterday, I became aware Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman was currently on sale for $1.99 on Kindle. The description mentions it's a sequel to American Gods, which I thought was odd as I wasn't aware there was a sequel. I was attempted to purchase the eBook but first I doubled checked my home library (a closet) and noticed I already own it on paperback. From my understanding, it's not a direct sequel to American Gods but the character Mr. Nancy appears in both novels.

I genuinely cherish the thoughts and insights of my readers, and I wholeheartedly welcome your engagement. However, to foster a truly constructive dialogue, I’ll be keeping a careful eye on the comments section. This means I’ll be moderating to weed out any spammy detritus, overly harsh critiques, or contributions that don’t add anything meaningful to the conversation. Think of it as my little corner of the internet—a space where everyone can share their perspectives without the noise. Let’s make this a place where ideas can flourish and grow, rather than wither away in the shadows of irrelevance.
