Monday Morning Madness: Jason Lives, Goosebumps, and Audrey Rose

Good Morning, Everyone!

Yes, I'm doing things a little differently this morning. Since I was under the weather yesterday, I moved my Sunday Post (hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer) to today's Monday Morning Madness. Also, this post will serve as my first "It's Monday! What Are You Reading?" (hosted by The Book Date) for the year.

What Am I Currently Reading?

One of these days, I'm going to actually finish reading The Chill by Scott Carson. I did read a few chapters last week but I was distracted by several other things. Maybe I'll have better luck with it this week.

Since Friday the 13th is this Friday, I'll be reading the novelization of Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI by Simon Hawke. Expect my review to be posted on the 13th.

Off the top of my head, I'm not for sure what 007 novel I'm currently reading on my Kindle. If you haven't heard, the newest James Bond flick, No Time to Die, has been delayed from April to November, so all my planned 007 reviews will be pushed back to November. My review for Casino Royale has already been written and you can read a snippet of the review on Goodreads.

Recent Reviews

Last week was a bad week for me due to my depression, so blogging was the last thing on mind. Hopefully, I can get caught up on reviews this week.

What's In the Mail?

The only ARC in the mail last week was Goosebumps SlappyWorld: Diary of a Dummy by R.L. Stine.

  Thrift Store Finds!

A few weeks ago, I found several novels by Orson Scott Card at a thrift store. Last Monday, I stumbled upon another one of the author's books - Shadow Puppets. While I was there, I picked up the horror novels - Audrey Rose by Frank DeFelitta and Cold Whisper by Rick Hautala.

Additionally, I picked up three Stephen King hardcovers - Carrie, The Eyes of the Dragon, and Firestarter. Yes, I already own copies of these titles but the hardbacks have different covers.

  Dollar Tree Finds

I picked three new books at the Dollar Tree store on Saturday. The titles are: Class: Joyride by Guy Adams, Ringer by Lauren Oliver, and Dividing Eden by Joelle Charbonneau.

What's New on the Bookshelf?

My TBR pile for James Patterson's titles keeps getting bigger and bigger. Nevertheless, I now have his newest Michael Bennett thriller - Blindside.

    1. I picked up some books by Jim Butcher, Lincoln Child, Lee Child, and Robin Cook at a thrift store this morning. It seems like I'm just replacing the books I got rid of last year with others.

    1. Yeah, I have a few good reads lined up this week! I've owned a copy of Jason Lives for several years but I've never gotten around to reading it. I do know it's based on the original screenplay and not the finished version of the film.
