Sunday Post: 9/15/19

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @  Caffeinated Book Reviewer!

Good Morning, Everyone!

I've had another bad couple of weeks dealing with allergies, migraines, and depression. My reading has gotten slightly behind but I hoping maybe I can do some catch up this week if my eyes can handle it.

What Am I Currently Reading?

My current read is Beneath the Attic by V.C. Andrews (a.k.a. Andrew Neiderman), which is a new prequel to Flowers in the Attic. I wanted to begin reading it on Friday but due to a migraine I wasn't able to. While I've been a little bit critical of Mr. Niederman's recent releases, part of me is looking forward to this read.

New in the Mail

It was either last Monday or Tuesday that I received a late birthday gift from my friend Michelle from North Carolina. She sent me the novel Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens and a cross stitch kit of the London Bell Tower. (FYI: I know how to cross stitch!) It was so nice of her to send me the gifts. I've never read the book but I'd seen it at my local Walmart recently. The cross stitch kit looks neat but I don't know when I will get around to working on it. Currently, I've working on a "Gothic" cross stitch kit for nearly two years.

Friday night, I received a review copy of Stephen King's newest novel The Institute, which I'll probably be reading after Beneath the Attic

New on the Bookshelf

I picked up James Patterson's newest novel "Killer Instinct" last week at my local Walmart. Recently, I won the eBook The Harvest by Sara Clancy from a LibraryThing giveaway.

  1. I forgot to mention I had received the John Wick: Chapter 3 DVD last Monday.

FYI: The Killer Instinct book has a shiny cover and I couldn't take a good picture of it.

    1. The last two days have been really good for me, which is a bit odd considering the 100+ weather. The first day of Fall is next week and I'm hoping the weather will finally cool off.
