Happy Mother's Day!

What Am I Currently Reading?

I have spent most of this rainy Sunday sleeping. No, I'm not sick again! I had trouble sleeping last night, so I finally watched the movies John Wick and John Wick: Chapter 2, which I had bought at a Black Friday sale two years ago. I didn't go to sleep until late this morning! I know I keep saying this, but I'm finally going to start reading N0S4A2 by Joe Hill as soon as I finish writing this post. There are a few hours to kill until the new episodes of The Spanish Princess and Games of Thrones start, so I'll be spending that time reading.

In the Mail

The only thing that arrived in the mail this week was the music album "Greater Things" by Mack Brock and a cap. I had posted an article about the singer earlier this year and the music studio was nice enough to send me the album and the cap. While I'm under no obligation to write a review for it, I'll probably review it sometime this week.

New on My Bookshelf

Yesterday, I picked up three old Louis L'Amour westerns at thrift store. The titles are: Sackett's Land, Sackett, and The Sackett Brand. Also, I got Triple Homicide by James Patterson, which is a 3-in-1 book that was released last summer featuring the novellas Detective Cross: An Alex Cross Story, The Medical Examiner: A Woman's Murder Club Story, and Manhunt: A Michael Bennett Story. All three novellas were previously released individually as BookShots titles, which was a failed attempt a few years ago to release very short stories for under $5. I didn't buy the 3-in-1 book last year because I already owned the BookShots versions, which was a good thing as I only paid $.10 for the 3-in-1 paperback at the thrift store.

  1. My Dad was a big fan of Louis L'Amour, had all his books and especially loved the Sacketts.

  2. I need to watch John Wick myself. I listened to N0S4A2. It is by far my favorite Joe Hill novel. Happy reading!

  5. 10c is a bargain for the Patterson book. I’ve just read his Harriet Blue series co-written with Australian author Candice Fox, which I really enjoyed.

    Have a great reading week

  6. I've read some Alex Cross and Women's Murder club but it's been more than a few years ago. Enjoy!
