Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer! |
Good Morning, Everyone!
What Am I Currently Reading?
My original intention was to read Fire & Blood by George R.R. Martin last week, but that didn't happen. I didn't have very much free time to read; though I should have gotten up and read the book at night instead of tossing and turning when I couldn't sleep. I was sent a copy of Ashes in the Snow by Ruta Sepetys and I read 108 pages yesterday. I'm determined to finish reading it today! Then I'm going to read Who I Am with You by Robin Lee Hatcher, as my review for it is due on the 17th! After I get done with those two books, then I'll put my full attention on Fire & Blood, which I really do want to read!

In the Mail
Like I had already mentioned, I had received Ashes in the Snow by Ruta Sepetys a few days ago and I'm already on page 109. I have every intention of finishing it today! I also received the Hell Fest Blu-ray, which is a slasher horror flick. You can find my review for the movie above under "Last Week's Reviews."
Update
Monday, Jan. 14th - My grandmother had hip surgery today. She's doing alright, but due to the pain killers she's a little loopy and has no idea she just had surgery.
I finished reading Ashes in the Snow! I should have my review posted for it sometime this week. I have my bookmark placed inside Who I Am with You. I'll read it tomorrow; though if my insomnia continues, I might read it in the wee hours of the morning.
Oh Billy, I am so sorry about your grandmother. Yep, exercise at night keeps me up half the night. Try afternoons or mornings. I am not a morning person and prefer to just sip my coffee and move slowly. If I can get my workout in before 4pm I do ok. I sure hope 2019 improves for you.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear about your grandmother! All my best wishes for a successful surgery and recovery. It's very hard when dementia or Alzheimer's complicate physical therapy and things of that nature, and family issues as well- I sympathize having gone through some of that when my mom was very sick a couple years ago. She spent time in a nursing home too while she rehabbed. I wish all the best for your situation.
ReplyDeleteAnd stay safe with the weather!
I hope you like Fire and Blood when you get to it. I finished it recently and while it reads differently from A Song of Ice and Fire, I did enjoy it.
I have insomnia, too. For me, it’s because I just gave up caffeine. I’m hoping that my sleep schedule fixes itself when the withdrawals stop. I hope your grandma is okay. She sounds a lot like my grandma: stubborn and refusing to listen to anyone. Have a good week.

Insomnia sucks, that's a plain fact! I saw a study somewhere recently . . . can't remember where now . . . that showed people who exercise in the morning sleep better than those who exercise later in the day.
ReplyDeleteI hope your grandmother's situation improves.
I'm sorry to hear all that about your grandmother. It's always tough in situations like that. I hope things get better and that your insomnia passes quickly too!
