What to do:

1. Post on your blog answering this question:

This week's question is submitted by Maria @ A Night's Dream of Books.

When reading a mass paperback book, many people fold the cover back, as if they were reading a magazine. Doing this will eventually create creases in the spine. How do you feel about this common bookish habit?

2. Enter the link to your post in the linky list below (enter your Blog Name and the direct link to your post answering this week’s question. Failure to do so will result in removal of your link).

3. Visit other blogs in the list and comment on their posts. My Answer:

It doesn't bother me too much. I buy many used books that have creases down the spine. However, if I'm planning on giving away one of my reviews copies after I finish reading it, I always make sure to not to fold back the pages.

  1. It doesn't bother me either though it isn't something that I do to my books.

  2. I agree! As long as it's the person's book I don't care what they do with their books. I just don't personally do it myself.

Happy reading & have a good weekend :)

  3. It drives me crazy! If I get a used book then there is nothing I can do about it but my own books I have bought I could never do that!

    1. It doesn't really bother me too much when people do that. However, I don't care when I see someone reading a paperback and they have the "read" pages pulled back too far where the spine is almost bent in half.

  4. Folding paperbacks? Are you crazy?! I mean, I used to dog-ear the pages of books to keep track of favorite parts and scenes, but who folds entire covers back? If it's not a notebook or a journal with a swirly spine, then I don't bother bending it back, that's just torture lmao! Doing so will damage the book and hurt your soul at the same time. (I'm exaggerating, but you know it's true lol!) But anyway, please don't fold back paperback covers. Just buy the hardcover. It's a little more expensive, but it's worth the stress. Also, there's always the Kindle.

  5. Oddly, I am bothered by it! Lol! I mean I could see someone doing it to a book I HATED and I will still cringe! Lol!

  6. I'm a book monster and I'm not sorry, lol. I don't intentionally set out to maim them but it happens. Stuff spills, pages crease and spines... Well, they break. As long as it's mine and I can read it, who cares?
