The idea that there were coloring books for adults seemed a bit silly to me at first. However, after I looked through several titles at local Walmart a year or so ago, I can easily see the appeal. Actually, coloring is no different than any other craft hobby.
Zondervan has jumped into the adult coloring book world by releasing a series of titles under the "Coloring Faith" line, which typical contains Bible Verses along with beautiful illustrations for you to color.
At a whopping 112 pages, The Beautiful Word: Creative Coloring & Hand Lettering features a variety of different illustrations, from abstracts to landscapes, which are all paired with a Bible Verse page. Some of the lettering can be colored in, and normally these pages have an illustrated border.
Final Thoughts: There are many Bible Verses coloring books on the market today. I've glanced through several titles in the stores and none of the artwork has ever appealed to me.
The Beautiful Word: Creative Coloring & Hand Lettering contains 50 verses that are all accompanied by pen-and-ink illustrations, which you can either be colored or traced and filled in. The very last page has an alphabet lettering chart, which you can use as a guide to practice hand lettering verses.
Overall, the The Beautiful Word: Creative Coloring & Hand Lettering is a nice coloring book with pretty illustrations. It would make a great birthday or Christmas gift for just about anyone.
