Nostalgia Review: "Who Ya Gonna Call?"

Anyone that grew up in the '80s knows the Ghostbusters theme song "Who Ya Gonna Call?" by heart. Yes, the lyrics were a bit silly, but the song did receive an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song. 

With the upcoming all-female Ghostbusters remake/reboot about to hit theaters, a slew of tie-in merchandise, such as t-shirts, DVD re-releases of the '80s animated series, toys, and mugs are being released.

Yes, I said coffee mugs!

Available now from Underground Toys is the Ghostbusters "Who Ya Gonna Call?" Heat Reveal Mug. 

The ceramic mug can hold up to 11 ounces. The body has been painted black, featuring the words "Who Ya Gonna Call?" in white along with a red circle-backslash symbol on both sides of the mug. Once you pour in hot liquid (coffee, tea, water) into it, the Ghostbusters ghost will appear behind the red symbol and below that the word "Ghostbusters" will appear in white.

Final Thoughts: Being a coffer lover and fan of the original two Ghostbusters films and the "real" animated series, I was excited when I received this mug in the mail last week. The ghost and the "Ghostbusters" title aren't completely invisible on the mug right out of the box, because if you look closely you can see the outline. I brewed a cup of coffee and poured it into the mug. I waited a few minutes, and the ghost and title were slightly more clearer. I thought maybe the coffee wasn't hot enough, so I warmed the mug in the microwave. And Voilà! The ghost and title magically appeared.

Overall, this is a cute little mug for any Ghostbusters fan, young or old.
