Review: Canvas4Life

When you think of buying a gift for Easter for a loved one, you probably think of candy or flowers. Yes, a chocolate bunny or a bouquet of flowers can make a good gift, but it is a little cliche and it can become old when you give someone the same present year after year, which is the main reason why I'm hosting an Eater Gift Guide this year.

I have received several pitches for products to be featured on the guide, but I only selected a few that I thought would make an excellent gift. One of those pitches happened to be from Canvas4Life, a company specializing in transferring any photo onto a canvas.

I was intrigue by the pitch, as I always have trouble thinking of what to get my grandmother, but I had one small problem - I didn't know what family picture I should use. After talking with mother about it, I decide to use a small photo that was taken at a fair in 1961 witch has my late grandfather holding my mother, who was just over one-years-old, and my grandmother, who was pregnant with aunt.

Once I had the photo scanned to my computer, all I had to do was upload it to www.canvas4life.com. Note: You can also upload photos from your Facebook account. After the photo was uploaded to the Canvas4Life software, all I had to do was follow the simple directions.

There are a wide range of canvas sizes available, in which I picked out the 16x20 print, followed by the single panel. I picked out the 'matte' coating, the 0.75" depth, and bleeding on the sides. Lastly, I used the advanced editor to make some last minute changes.

The picture arrived on my doorsteps six days later, which I thought was extremely fast. There were a few creases and scratches on the original photo, so I was a little worried about what the final result was going to look like, but as you can see from the picture, the canvas print turned out great. Most of the scratches were fixed and were unnoticeable, all except for one spot, but you have to look closely to see it. I was just surprised that they could remove any of the scratches at all. The dark colors really pop out from the canvas. The frame the canvas is on seems to very durable. There is metal hook at the top on the backside, so it can be hanged.

I'm glad to say that I'm more than impressed with the final product. I showed it to my parents and they absolutely love the canvas. I can't wait to give the canvas to my grandmother. Overall, I think Canvas4Life is a great company to have your photos transferred to a canvas. It can also make a great gift for any occasion.
