Give a Pet Portrait for Father's Day!

Is it just me or is June flying by way too fast?

Believe it or not, Father’s Day is this Sunday, June 21st. With all the chaos in the world this year, many of us have probably forgotten about the holiday that celebrates our fathers, grandfathers, uncles, etc. If you’re like me, then you have a tough time trying to come up with the perfect Father’s Day gift. Yes, sending a Hallmark card with a gift card is an easy (and cheap) way to go, but it’s even better to give a more creative gift.

Blu-ray Review - Trapped (2002)

Over the weekend, I watched 2002's Trapped (R; 97 minutes), based on the novel 24 Hours by Greg Iles, who also penned the screenplay. Directed by Luis Mandoki, the movie stars Charlize Theron, Courtney Love, Stuart Townsend, Dakota Fanning, and Kevin Bacon. It's a well-made thriller that has somehow fallen under the radar. The film got its first standalone Blu-ray (Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart) release this year from Mill Creek Entertainment.

Sunday Post - Hangsaman, Hush, and The Southern's Book Club's Guide To Slaying Vampires

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer!

Good Afternoon, Everyone!

I hope everyone is keeping safe & sound.

This morning, I noticed the AC unit wasn't putting out any cold air. I thought to myself, "Great, something else I cannot afford to get fixed." It shouldn't be a big surprise because there were a few nights when the AC wouldn't shut off. It's not the filter, as I just replaced it recently. I had the same problem a few years ago. Off the top of my head, I cannot recall the name of the part, but it only cost $10 for the replacement, plus $100 labor.

The temperatures are scorching outside today, and I had to go to the storage unit to look for two fans that belonged to my grandmother. Between the ceiling fans, 2 tower fans, and three smaller fans, the house is cooling down slightly.

Update: One of the tower fans isn't working!

The Midnight Horror Review - Frankenstein and the Monster From Hell (1974)

There’s nothing better to do on a Saturday night than watching a Hammer Horror flick!

I fell in love with the world of Hammer when I was a teenager in the mid-1990s, a time when TNT and AMC aired classic movies. I’m not 100% for sure what was my first Hammer movie, but my two favorite series were Dracula and Frankenstein

DVD Review - American Zombieland (2020)

Sometime last year, Mill Creek Entertainment started releasing ITN Distribution titles. I have had several of these DVDs in my possession for several months, and I've made many excuses not to review them, as many ITN films I've reviewed in the past have been crappy. Late last night, I finally got around to watching American Zombieland (Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart), which the title is a ripoff of the horror-comedy Zombieland.
