My Answer:
I've learned to tune out the hype surrounding new books. It's like watching a circus parade—most of the flashy promotions don't catch my interest unless it's a familiar author. I used to get drawn in by the buzz, often ending up disappointed with overrated titles. Now, I approach the excitement with skepticism, focusing on finding the book that truly deserves my attention.

I like to know what’s trending — I’m a blogger, so I see the waves of “you have to read this now” — but I don’t let it run my TBR.
ReplyDeleteI'd say I'm more or less the same. Sometimes a book that seems to be getting a lot of hype is one I enjoyed. There are certain fantasy romance books I love and still need to get caught up in that people are currently obsessing over. So there are times when I do like what's being hyped, other times I'm just like, I don't get it. The book could be a genre I enjoy but if the story doesn't grab me I'm not going to pick it up. I have broken down sometimes and given in to the hype and it's usually 50/50 if I agree with it.

I tend to agree with you. I love good books but they often get ignored in all the hype over a big-money book.
